Flame-seared sushi and sashimi is different and definitiely worth the experience. A high class but large scale vibe but not otherwise the best Japanese food or sushi I have had. Really liked their "Saba Bo" and "Salmon Aburi Oshi Sushi"

Hard to find a place to start. Have you ever had an amazing steak at a Japanese restaurant? ...me neither until I came to Minami! Their sushi is so good, the flamed one is definitely my favorite but the steak surprised us, we had to...More

The food and service is always consistent here. The Aburi sushi is always a good choice, but the dessert here is one of the best. I don't usually order desserts after dinner but the Green Tea Opera cake is a must have after dinner. Let's...More

The chefs know what they are doing. And so do the waiters. Great good, fancy drinks, outstanding service. The sushi variations are palete-blowing... love it!

Sushi, beautiful sushi! Our first time tasting Aburi sushi (their signature). It is nigiri sushi with the topside of the fish lightly grilled. I ordered the Premium Aburi sushi plate. Each piece was beautiful and distinctly flavored. A truly beautiful eating experience. However, the dish...More

We chose the Chef's surprise menu and each course was a gastronomic delight! Although pricey, it was Michelin quality and terrific value. We would certainly eat here again!

The food looks like art work and tastes amazing at Minami. Staff are friendly and efficient. It's a very busy restaurant so make a reservation during busy times.

We went to Minami for my husband's birthday. He ordered the set menu with sake pairings and I had a number of small plates. The food was excellent with good portion sizes. We were very disappointed, however, with the service as it wasn't on par...More

We were highly disappointed in this place. We tried a lot of different things and it was all very average. We did the Omakase. Thus is where the chef picks what you eat. We had sashimi, shrimp tempura, salmon and Kobe beef. Our feeling about...More

Established as the second location of the Aburi Brand in North America, Minami Restaurant offers a combination of Japanese and West Coast cuisine in a comfortable, rustic atmosphere. Minami presents the Aburi take on red meats and seafood dishes to enjoy with your choice of sake, wine, or specialty cocktail. From intimate gatherings with family and friends to professional corporate events, our welcoming atmosphere with amazing cuisine and impeccable service creates a lasting dining experience.

Aburi Sushi is a corporate symbol of our company, enjoyed by local Vancouverites and international travellers alike. Minami is excited to introduce the innovative concept of Aburi Sushi appetizers. This combination of our shari (sushi rice), cooked using a unique traditional method, and our flame searing technique has turned sushi into a truly exciting culinary experience. At Minami, Aburi sushi is best enjoyed as a zensai (appetizer) course and, paired perfectly alongside your favourite beverage, sets the stage for the rest of your Aburi dining experience.

Our entrée menu places an emphasis on our beef, poultry, and seafood cuisine. Our dedicated team of chefs perfects our entrées not only by focusing on the protein, but also by pairing it with fresh, seasonal vegetables in order to complement the rich flavour of the meat. We insist that a great entrée must be accompanied by an equally great side.

Minami is the sister restaurant of Miku Restaurant.
