On Denman Street businesses change with the Seasons. There's been some winners and plenty of losers but this place is still there. It's not the cleanest, the furniture is beat up, it can be crowded and noisy but the food here is consistently great year after year. The Owner seems to work 18 hours a day and 7 days a... More

We stopped by during our last visit to Vancouver and bought a Donair Special, (I think it was called a special). We had a lot of beef, some great salad, hummas and lots of pita. For what we paid this was definitely our cheapest and biggest meal. The owner is very friendly, great sense of humour and even late at... More

We fly into Vancouver every year and this place is always our first meal upon arrival. The #8 shawarma chicken plate is our basic and we have never been disappointed. The carrot soup is first rate as is the lentil soup. Looking at it from the outside, many people will be tempted to pass it by but I would advise... More

The food and portion sizes are always great. The owner is friendly and it's nice to have a long time staple in our west end hood. I usually have the chicken shwarma plate or falafel, lovely!

Went for a snack and did not get disappointed. Got a falafel sandwich which was delicious. Freshly made and huge! The owner was nice and forthcoming and we did have a nice chat about the us open in tennis. Paid just 6.50 CAD for a huge falafel sandwich

The food is really yummy! The only down side is that you need to carry cash if you want to eat here. Have been here many times and always great food.........recommend taking food down to the beach and eating it there.

Stopped in on the way to the boat show. We both had chicken donairs and a Greek salad. "Filled the hole" and that's about it. Greek salad was small pieces of cucumber, tomato and not much else. Bland. Should have used tripadvisor to find another place downtown.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
