Chambar has expanded since its early days, but it has maintained high quality food and service. We took relatives from England here before seeing a hockey game, and they loved it-- the decor, the vibe, the food. I met a friend here for brunch a...More

Reservations recommended because we had one at 8:45 for dinner and an hour later there were still people trickling in and waiting for a table. The side dish of poutine was so savory and rich that It could quite possibly fill you up if eaten...More

The food and the service are all excellent. The restaurant was recommended to us by our Hotel. My wife and I reserved a table for two and arrived early. This is not a quiet, intimate restaurant, as you are surrounded by other diners all enjoying...More

When I asked our server what was good on the menu and he answered ‘everything’, I rolled my eyes, but he was right! My friend ordered the halibut, I ordered the tuna and we shared the chanterelle salad and fried brussel sprouts. Everything was amazing!...More

On our recent visit to Vancouver, we were looking for a great, but lighter, breakfast. Our hotel concierge recommended we try Chambar. I was a bit skeptical because I tend to like more basic meals - but the rest of our group thought this sounded...More

The restaurant gave us excellent service and had great food. I had the halibut and the broth had the best peas I have ever had. There was six of us for dinner and everyone said what a great meal it was. 5 stars for sure

Husband and I wanted a quieter table since all the reviews stated the restaurant is noisy. It is, but we were seated in an area where it was not too bad Our waitress was new but if she hadn't told us, we probably would not...More

We've been there for brunch so hopefully dinner time makes for a better experience because when we went there for lunch we started with a table that has not been properly cleaned and that we cleaned ourselves with wet wipes. The service was kind of...More

Had a reservation and were led down to lower level (very steep stairs ... beware if anyone has physical limitations). Had just sat down when waitress asked to take our order . She pestered us constantly so we ordered sooner than we wanted... didn't even...More

This is a funky restaurant with interesting menu and wine options, and the service was good (not outstanding, but no complaints). The standout dishes were the scallops and the ratatouille. The restaurant itself felt a little crowded with lots of small tables really close together.

A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and
stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of

plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell
the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's
history a more lively presence here than anywhere
else. Having been originally founded around a popular
worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of

There is no formal dress code however they work their butt off in putting quality food in the plate and offer professional service so my philosophy is to not 'underdress". I had a suit no tie.

We make our bread fresh daily inhouse, if you can let me know the date you were in, and describe what you had and I'll see if I can get you a recipe. The starter is 40 years old and not something we can share.
