Best brunch I have had I a long time. A benny or sorts - perfectly poached eggs, on a waffle, gravlax, lightly dressed greens, hollandaise, a swoosh of something lightly sweet and spicy.... In and out in no time. Great coffee. Superb service. GO THERE :)

We enjoyed a couple late night visits to chambar, The food was great but the service is where this place really shines. The friendliness of the staff and the immense knowledge from the manager made this the best stop in Vancouver.

We were in search of waffles, and found delicious waffles here - as well as excellent coffee and a nice ambiance.

We enjoyed a wonderful evening at Chambar. The service was top notch and the food was excellent. My husband and I shared a salad and bread to start then we each ordered mussels and frittes. Having eaten the generous portion of mussels we had no room for dessert. A great restaurant pre or post hockey game, concert or an time.... More

We came in a group for dinner before a show. The menu is varied with a good number of vegetarian options. The vegetarian main was a lovely balanced meal with lentils and eggplant aside a filo pastry. A little amouse bouche is brought out before, and they accommodated dietary restrictions easily. The drinks menu is long but interesting, cocktails are... More

I was in Vancouver for the weekend and wanted drinks and food walking distance from BC Place. Found "The Chambar" a real gem. I loved the interior decor with a warehouse, open beam feel. We had just popped in for drinks and found seats available at the bar, perfect. The bartender was pleasant and helpful with the many Belgian beer... More

Downstairs seating is open, bright and cheerful. It is a noisy, loud atmosphere which is great before a hockey game. We had the mussels and the lamb as our entrees and they were both excellent. The variety of choice in beer and wine is tremendous. The service was outstanding. My only suggestion for room for improvement is the washroom. I... More

We attended a birthday party (held in the downstairs private room) with 22 guests. The room was spacious and the service was impeccable. The restaurant offered a menu with 3 choices each for appetizers, main course and dessert. No matter which combination you chose, the food was presented beautifully and everything was delicious. 2 of the guests needed gluten free... More

I came here for brunch with friends whilst we were visiting Vancouver from the UK. We came because Jam, just a few doors down, had a huge queue but we were able to get bar seats here without a wait. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food and there was a great selection for vegetarians (some vegetarian dishes and others that... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
