Exceptional food and service, the escargot was amazing, as was the beef (the one that comes with one of two sauces). Extensive wine menu. Expensive but that is to be expected, and well worth it. Unlike other fine dining establishments the portions were very generous....More

The experience that would have been outstanding was marred by a couple of things: 1. One of us was not too hungry. However, the restaurant refused to serve two appetizers in lieu of an accompanying main course. The irony being the appetizers would have cost...More

This is a formal, old school classic restaurant that has been in Vancouver for many years. It is very pricey but the food and service are both outstanding.

The quality of the food and service is excellent every time we go... Not many restaurants I know manage to do that. It is always a pleasure to return! Even though it is hardly inexpensive, you can select carefully from the menu and have a...More

Definitely a cut above. Attention to detail pays off with artfully prepared contemporary French cuisine. The sampler menu is a great experience for first time guests. It combines deliciously prepared examples of seafood, duck, lamb in a five course perfectly timed dinner. Each offering is...More

I love and miss classical French dining. Even in Paris, bistronomy has pushed formal French cooking aside. It makes me sad and nostalgic for those times we dressed in our finest Pierre Cardin and Chanel, showing respect and formality, to experience the lofty elegance of...More

During our short stay we tried to hit the culinary highlights scattered downtown. Of the handful of expensive dining experiences that spring, Le Crocodile was simply the best. From the moment we walked in and were delivered to our table, the talented staff and kitchen...More

West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines
verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with
Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a
paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and
perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most
languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset
Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to
take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along

If they have seared foie gras, go for it. I had the delicious scallops with black ink pasta. Anything is good and if you don't like it, they will fix it!
