I read those bitter reviews (btw, why are they always written by ugly people? I wonder) and all I can do is laugh. Comparing this place to franchise coffee house - hysterical. All their baking is done off site, on commercial scale. Unlike True Confections that make everything on site. Also, if your sever is rude (which I have't experienced)... More

We plan our meals in Vancouver carefully and we always have to factor dessert in from True Confections. We usually eat in but yesterday we were still full from dinner so we took our pieces back to the hotel. They were well packed. It's not cheap, about $8 a slice, but that's what you would pay at a good restaurant... More

What more could a dessert lover ask for. It was different and the cakes were absolutely delicious. The boozy hot chocolate was amazing but the BEST THING EVER was the White Chocolate Martini! Also Martina who was our server made the experience even better. It's worth just going and having a chat with her if she isn't too busy!

Pls ask the waiter as to when these cakes were baked, they taste days old. Maybe maybe cheese cakes could be fresh

Came here with a friend to celebrate her birthday. It's the best place for desserts in Vancouver. There's a good selection of pies, cakes, teas and coffee. We had the chocolate raspberry mousse cake and we polished it off in no time. The photo you see is actually one piece split in half. I bake a lot and love a... More

Some good cake, decent coffee and a great location - ideal after a day in Stanley Park or wandering Coal Harbour. A little overpriced and the decor is slightly dated, but all in all, a very good spot to relax and refuel.

Overpriced, old, no taste, dry cake. Don't waste your money or time stopping by this dessert restaurant. We had the devils food cake and the diplomat cake. Very disappointed!

This place is at the end of my block, too close. The selections are amazing and so are the prices. Amazingly high, surpassed only by the calories. For an occasional treat this is the place, good luck.

We all had different kinds of cakes and they were all really good. The hot chocolate was good too. It wasn't just milk with dash of chocolate. We'll be back :)

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
