A small place with a family feel. Did a late breakfast there and the food was to die for and the potions were huge. Very well done and I noted a number of other dishes that also looked unique and well done. The place has a top chef for sure. Brioche is a small place and nothing fancy inside. Order... More

This is a very small cozy restaurant. The food is amazing, this place really knows how to make delicious pasta dishes! The servings are a good size. You order and pay at the counter and the staff are very friendly with the prices for the food very reasonable.

Hunting for a downtown breakfast place on our first morning in downtown Vancouver, we were about to give up and buy a coffee and pastry at Starbucks. Then we chanced upon Brioche. A very small and informal dining space, but what a chef. Breakfast was a fresh veggie and prosciutto omelet with freshly baked toast, a sparklingly fresh cup of... More

My wife and I went to Brioche a few days ago for breakfast/brunch. The place is nice and cozy, and very clean. The french toast was extremely good (way above average), the omelette was good too, while the clam chowder was just average. Everything was huge, two people can definitely eat from one only portion. I would give a 4.5... More

The smell of garlic wafting on the damp air led us to this little restaurant. We were famished, and a little unsure of where to go for a good meal, when we noticed the scent of roasted garlic. We took a back way into the restaurant, but ended up in a small, casual shop. The girl working the counter was... More

The only reason we found this was for a vacant parking spot near the front door. What a pleasant surprise. My husband has been craving some good Italian food and strangely enough, to his little place serves a mean bowl of pasta in a Bolognese sauce that was to die for. We all found out way into his dish with... More

My son recommended that we have lunch at Brioche, a small cheerful bistro. It was a good idea. I had a fresh and delicious ham sandwich with Brie, a unique combination, served promptly by a pleasant staff member. The sandwich was huge and I could only eat half of it. The remainder was quickly wrapped up for me to take... More

Delightful looking local eatery featured in our Eyewitness guide. The food was good but hygiene very poor. Hair found in green salad and waste bin by milk station with flies buzzing around. Would not recommend unless the hygiene improves dramatically.

We ate here three times during our visit to Vancouver as we were staying nearby - two breakfasts and one evening meal. All were delicious and large portions e.g fruit with yoghurt and granola was a large soup plate of fresh and interesting fruit, with yoghurt and home made granola, lovely. Also had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on a... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
