I used to adore East is East and it was always our "go to" place for a great dinner, great vibe at fair prices. It had a hippy honesty I admired. Everything changed about my feelings after visiting their new location on Broadway As we...More

This is a great place to go for eastern cuisine. The chai was delicious and the food was just perfect. Not too hot with just the right amount of spice. The atmosphere was very different with tiny wooden tables and benches with lots of cushions....More

Delicious food and great service. The atmosphere is also just super relaxing and we had a really enjoyable evening. I would recommend the taster menu, lots of yummy choices for veggies and meat eaters alike and you can try as many as you can stomach!

I don’t like spice, but mostly because I very much can not handle spice. That said, my food was delicious. I certainly can’t speak to its authenticity, but it turned my face into a waterfall. If I’d been able to not react like entering a...More

A great place to go with a small group and try the feast, a sampler of all of the dishes and they keep it coming. The new place is larger, liquor licence and music some nights. Great food, great service.

I have eaten at both locations, and the food is consistent at both locations. However, I wasn't enough to bring longing to return. However, I preferred the atmosphere here at the Broadway location.

What a fabulous atmosphere in this restaurant. Excellent food from countries along the Old Silk Rd. I loved the Almond Chai Tea. We had a lamb roti and a salmon and green curry roti which came with salad and dahl. Great flavours, great staff, excellent...More

The West Broadway East is East has recently moved a bit farther east along Broadway to the old Calhoun’s cafe location. This open space has been nicely renovated and redecorated to create a really attractive space. Service was very pleasant and our meals were attractive...More

Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative
neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture
and poetry readings, its days of flower children and
buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving
their mark on the number of organic restaurants and
fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of
Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic
expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a

I'm pretty sure they have high chairs and would be considered family friendly particularly during the day. Some of them have live music at night so it may not be quite as good a situation. If you've already gone, I'd like... More
