Had a really wonderful meal last week at Caminetto.... service, food, ambiance all top notch. Three in our party wanted to order off menu items and the chef graciously accommodated us. The restaurant sale is almost complete and not sure if this review is relevant for the future. The new owners seem to have no regard for existing staff and... More

We were 7 adults, service was exemplary but the food was not. Vitello tonnato was amazing, pasta carbonara was far to over salted, lobster bisque was over reduced and acrid, minestrone was fabulous, clhilean sea bass was amazing, lobster tagliolini was great, osso buco was good although risotto was underdone, schnitzel was not as good as a pub schnitzel, gnocchi... We have been here a couple times in the past and once again had a great meal. We had some beautifully prepared pastas which were delicious. The service was excellent as always. They have an extensive wine list with a broad range in prices. The meal is on the pricier end but worth it if you are celebrating something or... More

The best meal we had in Whistler. Wonderfully seasoned food beautiful presented. Extensive wine program with a few moderately priced bottle in every category, but featuring some truly excellent bottles (albeit at high prices). Professional waiters with a fine knowledge of both how the food is prepared and what wines would be best. Warm and welcoming daecor.

Caminetto is an up-priced Italian eatery at Whistler. The decor is definitely upscale, but the food is more middle of the range, certainly not worth the prices that they charge. The restaurant was only half full when we visited, while others had wait times. The only saving grace is that the Canadian dollar is worth less, making the pain only... More

I generally avoid negative reviews but I felt this place was simply trying to take advance of patrons and good value for money. There were some tell-tale signs right at get go, and we tried to keep an open mind. Here are some sample details: - $26 Pasta Carbonara!!! context: when you visit your Italian nonna and her hip has... More

We enjoyed a nice evening at Il Caminetto. Our waiter was very attentive and our food was authentic and well prepared. My husband is from Italy so he knows!! The pasta orders were on the small side, but well cooked al dente. My son enjoyed a generous portion of veal parmigiana and my husbands osso buco was delicious. FIne dining... More

Food was good: Oysters, Crab cakes, scallops and Veal Parmigiana. However, the restaurant is very noisy, and it can be very cold - when you are unlucky enough to sit near the door during wintertime and temperatures below zero. What influenced heavily my rate, apart from the cold flashes every two minutes, was the very indifferent reaction by the staff.... More

We had dinner here for a change of pace from the usual casual dining scene and we were in the mood for a nice quiet meal. The atmosphere was just that. Quiet and relaxing. Attentive service and waitstaff. Portion sizes are a bit small for the prices (especially after a long day on the slopes and are in the mood... More
