I have a soft spot for this place having been a university kid in this town 20 years ago. But being worldly now, and having been to numerous restaurants of various qualities I can say Mel's delivers for what it is. A small town diner with solid food, friendly service and a charm you can't replicate. Go. Eat. Enjoy.

Our group had breakfast at this diner last weekend. The place is full of nostalgic art and decor. We had a great meal; coffee, eggs, toast etc. Fairly standard options, but it was all served hot, fresh, and delicious. Our server was very attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant.

Visited this diner on Friday night for supper place full but only one waitress for the entire dining room working very poor service for a place that was just rescued from being sold. Very long wait for service and food. These places need to learn you need people to make them work. They also had no heat on it seemed... More

50's decor with fair value. Loved the syrup on my French toast. Eggs to perfection. Fast friendly service.

One of my favourite places in Sackville. Bacon and a date square, with a side of coffee? They can make it happen. The candy cane milkshakes are a Sackville Midnight Madness special tradition. Look for the owner's Orange Crush banana seat bike on display and the local favourites in the jukebox.

Came here for lunch. Got a chicken panini and a regular burger and gourmet burger "Kahuna Burger". You could tell the burgers were not your typical frozen ground beef, this stuff was awesome. The panini looked kind of funky but it tasted very good. Even the fries were home made and were tasty. Actually getting ready to go back right... More

Delicious hamburgers and fast friendly service. Good selection of bottled beers. 1960's diner décor. Great location in the middle of downtown. Perfect spot for a quick lunch with a cold beer.

Every time I'm in Sackville, I have to stop in at Mel's. It has such a cozy vintage atmosphere complete with a jukebox and old timey photos and decor all over the walls. The friendly service and homemade dishes never disappoint (and the prices are great!) Their old fashioned milkshakes are to die for. If you're looking for a place... More

We travel through Sackville at least once per summer - from Ontario on our way to Halifax. A stop at Mel's is ALWAYS on the agenda and well worth the few minutes drive into town. Fabulous breakfasts and Lunches, (I love their fries!) you can't go wrong! Yummmmmm !
