The Arms is a lovely pub in the Lord Nelson Hotel across for th Public Gardens. They have great service and drinks. I did not try the food but there is great ambiance. They have a small but very sunny patio to sit and watch people coming and going at the Public Gardens. A nice place to stop and have... More

The breakfast buffet with the self-serve waffle bar is great! We enjoyed lunch as well as dinner there. The seafood chowder is one of the best I've had. All of the main dishes we tried were excellent. My only criticism is that we would have liked an option for a plain salad, however, we didn't ask so we don't know... More

There are so many nice places to eat near here, I suggest you try them first. A late dinner as a Lord Nelson Hotel guest resulted in a poor experience. The Greek salad was fine except the feta was gone in just a couple of bites. After asking for a bit more, they wanted to charge an extra $2. Who... More

The Arms is located within the Lord Nelson hotel. It is an historic venue and a Halifax landmark. I decided to have breakfast there out of convenience while staying at the Lord Nelson. The breakfast buffet was good quality and ample. Service was about average to good for this venue. For me breakfast was not included in my hotel stay.... More

The Arms Public House in the Lord Nelson Hotel is located across from the Public Gardens. We chose to have their Lobster Roll with hand-cut fries. It was excellent! Our server was friendly and knowledge. For a "pub" style restaurant, it was quite open and airy. There are steps leading up to the restaurant, so it could be a problem... More

A reservation for lunch on the patio, table for four, was made yesterday afternoon. We arrived on time today, only to discover there was no table left outside that would seat four, and they couldn't find our reservation. The place was empty indoors, but who wants to sit there on a sunny 26C day? They called for the manager to... More

We arrived late into Halifax and chose to eat a late dinner here as it was in the hotel we were staying at. Best seafood chowder I had on my entire east coast trip. Cold beer, great staff - very friendly and helpful.
