A restaurant in a 200 year old house. The ambiance was decadent while remaining true to a feel of a traditional pub feel. The service was astounding - not too intrusive while being attentive. Between the six of us we have 4 different dishes and...More

The atmosphere alone is worth a visit to this historical pub, especially on a cold night when you can sit by the fire. The service and food are great too! On a recent visit we indulged in seafood chowder followed by fish and chips. The...More

Finally found a restaurant that serves old fashioned steak & kidney pie. Had to come to Halifax to finally enjoy one. Cooked to perfection, lots of meat and the gravy was to die for. Strongly recommend this meal.

I've eaten here a couple of time. It is typical pub food. Nothing too fancy. They do serve local craft beer as well.No complaints.

Enjoyable evening with a friend. Beer and food very good. Attentative service with a smile. A well establish name in the Halifax restaurant community. Nice to revisit, it's been a while.

We dropped in knowing they served pub fare. The ambiance was charming and the fireplaces were comforting on a chilly evening. The best bitter was fine. My steak and mushroom pie was disappointing but was wife was satisfied with her salmon pasta. Service was adequate.

I don't believe so but not absolutely certain. Try the waterfront area for shellfish, including the marketplace.
