Yes the line can get long, but for good reason. It is delicious! Thankfully the line moves quick, unlike the decision process of which flavour you want. There are many choices of flavours-we had skor which was a win! One would be easily able to eat one on their own. This is located at the edge of the Byward market.... More

These pastries are tasty and full of calories. Have one for the bucket list but pass on a re-visit. We lined up had a cold greasy piece of dough for way too much money. Choices are limited but have not changed in years. Sweet or garlic your choice but all in all a bit "stale". Shake it up Beavertails or... More

It's an Ottawa classic. Get one. Love it. Take a photo of you eating it. Post it on Facebook. It's the true passport stamp.

Whole wheat pastry. Delicious. It's a bit of a splurge and sharing is very doable. It's a winter tradition in Ottawa but also delicious all year around.

Besides being the yummiest deep-fried, with any number of toppings (cinnamon, sugar & lemon is my favorite but my niece likes the cheese & garlic), snack at the market, the 'beaver tail' can be the most interesting item to tell people you eat in Canada. I've told people in Thailand that we eat beaver tails here & their mouths fall... More

Who doesn't like fried dough? I got the traditional cinnamon sugar and I got this special salted caramel beaver tail. Both were excellent.

We had the classics cinnamon and sugar version and it was delicious! There were lots of topping options that also looked great! Don't forget the napkins...you'll need them!

Beaver Tails have been around since I was a kid. Deep fried dough, and many topings to choose from. If you're visiting Ottawa, you have to have one...here or on the canal, its a must do!
