We are frequent visitors to Stratford for the Festival. We've visited Sirkel foods in the past for lunch. For what it's worth, they've redecorated since our earlier visits and the interior is totally different from what is in some of the photos in this site...(more about that below).
Sirkel is now completely a take-out place, with no tables. It has dark walls leading up to a kind of post-industrial set of counters, one to order and one for pickup, through plexiglass dividers that are kind of like the windows at banks or ticket booths with a slot at the bottom to exchange money or credit cards. There is little dampening material, so the interior is acoustically live, at times uncomfortably so. But for our knowledge that the food would be pretty good, we might have gone elsewhere.
The menu is written on a large blackboard on the wall.
The food here is actually fresh, plentiful, and very good. There are no tables (nor is the setting conducive to a friendly meal), but on a nice day just cross the street to the many picnic tables around the town hall or, if it is a nice day, go a little further down to the lake.
The portions were huge. We had a pesto chicken sandwich and a second sandwich with goat cheese. They use artisan breads and ingredients, so everything was flavorful and tasted well.
Our recommendation: Treat this as a takeout place only and consider ordering on line. Come here on a nice day and enjoy a picnic lunch either across the street or at the park by the lake. Expect to bring food home.More
