We were looking for a breakfast place near our hotel and happened upon this little gem. What a delicious breakfast place! Such a variety of options, orange juice deliciously fresh and coffee was great, service was very attentive and kind, even to our big group with kids. Thanks!

This bistro style eatery is a wonderful alternative for healthy yet tasty fare near Toronto's financial district.

Eggspectation at 20 Albert St, Toronto, ON M5G 2C9, Canada is a great, classic to tastes and expectations location. Eggspectation never disappoints, and this one certainly doesn't either. Great food, Great drinks, and unmatched service! The pancakes, waffles, benedicts, and other egg dishes are all excellent. The mimosa isn't bad either. If you're in the City Hall area, or a... More

Came here based on reviews from trip advisor as I was staying in a hotel nearby. Food was good. A little pricey, but kind of expected for the location. Service was lame though. After the food dropped (took 30 mins for 2 basic breakfasts) waitress didn't check in again for 15 minutes and my wife's eggs benedict were overdone (poached... More

Had eggs and a side of French toast. Disappointed to see that I paid five dollars for one piece of battered bread. Service was fine and food was very good. I would recommend, but be wary of pricing.

We found this little gem located close to our hotel where we were staying in Toronto, and luckily we found it early on in our holiday, as we actually returned 3 times! This place was wonderful for breakfast, all the meals were absolutely delicious and between the four members of our party across three trips we sampled quite a few... More

Went to eggspectation before my girlfriend and I went to the ROM, and we had a delicious breakfast, service was great and fast. Very modern restaurant and very well priced considering you're in the heart of Toronto. I had a hard time deciding what to eat, a lot of interesting culinary creations but decided to go with the French toast... More

Layover in T.O. Decided to go downtown for the day. First stop was here. Delicious as always. Great service. Our waitress informed us of an Eggspectation restaurant in Dubai (we will be back there in March) and are so looking forward to eating there as well.

We went here the day after New Year's Day. The place was busy but the attendant at the front was really accommodating. We had 7 people but they seated us shortly after. The food was great, I had the eggstravaganza and the quantity for the price is amazing. They keep your coffee full and the server was friendly. All around... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
