Very well decorated with some surprising elemenents ( must see the washrooms). The food was beautifully prepared and presented and just a little different, the Peking duck was delicious and so were the lamb chops. The portions tend to be small but they have reasonably priced bottles of wine. This appears to be a favorite lace for the hip set... More

I had dinner at the Spice Route with my family. The cocktails were interesting (Coco Loso, Red Star Mule and Eastern Old-Fashioned). We ordered Lettuce wrap, tempura calamari/shrimp, Mandarin Rice, Mongolian Beef, Yellowfin Tuna and Tempura Banana. The Lettuce wrap is an interesting food composition. The Calamari was a bit chewy. Beef and tuna were good, though nothing outstanding. The... More

Made reservations through Open Table for 8:30, were seating quickly. Only 4 tables occupied in the restaurant. We ordered the hot stone steak app, it was fun to prepare ourselves, tasted good. Spring rolls app next, tasty but nothing too special. For our mains the Kung Pao Chicken, spicy and tasted so good. The Pad Thai was okay, it needed... More

My thoughts.... 1) great entranceway.... very mystical, and unique 2) Seating needed upgraded. Sat on a heater and there were rips in the seat. 3) Bathrooms are scary felt weird... wig out... scary for average folk or kids. 4) toilet paper awkward to reach in the bathroom. 5) towels in a stack so people drip water getting their towel. 6)... Attended a corporate event at this location. Ambience was great - very nicely laid out restaurant. Good selection of drinks served by friendly staff. We sampled many dishes- the food was very well done. I will try this spot with my wife.

Had dinner here last night for the first time in a year. This was my favorite high end Asian Restaurant, Not anymore. The quality and execution have drastically gone down. The Orange Beef, one of their best dishes tasted like rancid oil. Great staff and nice atmosphere.

There's a well known expression: "you only get one chance at a first impression". Sadly, this pretentious place with really poor service and the most luckluster food I've had while eating out in a long while, blew any chance of ever seeing me, or my money, again. The food taste, composition (hello, so called "sushi roll") and quality is insulting... More

Went for a Summerlicious dinner. Maybe the full menu options are better, but highly overpriced. The actual restaurant and atmosphere is great. The food is just bland and you could find something way more worth the money that will be delicious with better service in the 2 km radius.

From entering to leaving my experience was unparalleled. The hostess was amazing! Very attentive to ensure guest are taken care of. I asked the waiter to choose the dishes and with absolute pleasure it was to what my guest and I desired. The venue is relatively a good size. Decor is beautifully put together and attention to detail was mastered... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
