Visited The Chefs House for lunch on our recent trip to Toronto with friends. The food was excellent, could not fault the food or the staff, you would not know that most of the staff both kitchen and waiting staff are all still training as the quality of the food is 5 star but so reasonably priced, would definitely recommend... I have eaten at the Chef's House on multiple occasions as I live and work in the neighbourhood. It's always a good choice for something "different" and foodies will love the experience of dining at one of the better cooking institutes in Canada. That being said, I recently returned for a birthday party and found the experience a bit rough.... More

We visited The Chef's House for lunch. I had 3 courses from an Italian inspired menu that was created by one of their culinary students. The food was great. Very good value for the price. Service was good. I'd highly recommend visiting.

The Chefs' House is a restaurant run and staffed by the Hospitality course from George Brown College's program. We went for Winterlicious. The prices were very good for the quality of the food. Our wait staff was very attentive, but a little stiff and nervous, but understandable given the situation. Our dessert was served before my friend was finished her... More

The Chefs' House is the training ground for students enrolled in George Brown College's culinary and hospitality management programs. Do expect creative menus serving up some very good food but don't expect smooth and professional table service. Shortly after we were seated (you can reserve a table online at Open Table) the featured chef of the week, Albert, came by... More

I had a wonderful dinner here On Valentines day. The food was excellent! Each course was beautifully executed and delicious. The Atmosphere is sparse but very comfortable. The open kitchen and camera on the chefs station was wonderful. It was cool to see out meals being prepared. All of the staff were so happy and accommodating. They do very well... More

The food here was great and it was a nice atmosphere. The waiter seemed confused, reversed our menu items and brought the incorrect beverage. He was, however, pleasant. We'll go there again !

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
