Neighbourhood restaurant, within walking distance of the house. Had visitors in from Montreal and decided to go and enjoy the great weather and have some great food on the patio.

The quick sides offer a fast meal when you are in a hurry - "yorkies " WHICH are mini yorkshire puddings with shaved roast beef, and the fish and chips are my absolute favorites. Avoid sports finals unless you enjoy loud, packed games

I've been here a few times and loved it then. Tonight? Not so much. Had the dual rib dinner and it was fatty and lacked taste. The BBQ rib was flavourful but not a good part of the rib. The sweet and sour was not at all. My partner had the fish and chips and left most of the fish.... More

Back this week, first time in awhile. I still like the concept....with a fine selection of ales for only $5 before 7pm (wow!) plus of course one of Toronto's finest array of single malts. Service was good. Ales were excellent. I recommend it if you're near the East End.

Mcgugans has a great roof top patio, including a bar and large a television screen! You can book it for private events. The beer selection is large and the rotation brew gives you always something new to try. The menu is full of great comfort food like a Guinness stew, vegetarian curry, fish and chips plus great nacho's. The staff... More

Moms a huge football fanatic and where else better to take her then a local Scottish pub. Staff are beyond friendly and helpful. They made my moms first experience a blast so when she visits we now end up here if she doesn't want to try something new. And have even brought some the other fam to visit aswell when... More

A group of us were to attend a scotch nosing at the bar, organized by a third party distiller. Unfortunately., the event was cancelled last minute but we didn't get the notice and arrived at the bar to be told of the situation. That's were the disappointment stopped! A few of us decided to make the best of it and... More

I have visited for a few years now as I have family near by and it was a place we always went for food and hung out, especially upstairs by the patio heater on the roof. The food was excellent but have had moments recently where the food isn't hitting the same standard it was - which does leave a... More

I've been going here for a year now and i have to admit...their food used to be better. I legitimately had to return two food items during my last visit because the insides were still cold...and i didn't even want to return them, everyone is so gosh darn nice in there that i felt bad about not eating my meal;... This has become my go-to-place this summer though I went a lot last year too. Love the back patio and the burgers are the best I have ever had. Staff is always amazing and super friendly. If I need a pick me up, McGugan's is the place.

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
