Came here on a Monday with 4 other people, we sat at our table for ten minutes before someone came to greet us. The service was so slow our server was never around when we needed something or wanted to order more food. This was my first time at this location and I will not be going back. She refused... More

The food tasted pretty good, but there were a number of downsides. The music was so loud it was impossible to talk to anyone in my large party besides the two people seated next to me. There was no indication of how big the portions were, so I ended up ordering only two tacos and consequently, was hungry afterwards. I... More

A friend and I went here to catch up - we were definitely the oldest there by about 20 years - most of the clientele were in their 20's. The place is funky and loud - they have a limited menu - mainly 5 kinds of tacos. The tacos were ok, although a bit more spice would be good. I... More

Very good food, a positive hipster vibe and competent sevice. A little loud and not the place where you will linger catching up with friends. A good quick meal.

A hip place for fun food. Great for a date and the food is well made and tasty. Try the dips, corn on the Cobb and mango avocado salad. Didn't care too much for the tacos and would have preferred to just eat more apps. The paletta (peanut butter/chocolate) was a hit. Music was funky with a great baseline. Think... More

Not a bad place for tacos. They have a variety of them. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get to try the cod taco because they had sold out for the night. You can definitely taste the alcohol in their drinks. The pb&j popsicle was different. I've never seen that anywhere before. Surprisingly it tasted better than it... More

The night was going great, we had a surprise planned for the birthday girl, and the restaurant was nice, staff was friendly. We ordered apps and it took awhile to come to our table but the food was fresh and tasty when it arrived. we were all having such a great time but because were were a bigger group (about... More

This place is really cool, with great decor and just-disinterested-enough to be hip but still attentive waitstaff. The tacos are very instagrammable, with unique toppings and beautiful plating. Unfortunately, once you take a bite the pretense falls away and you're left with a mouthful of bland refried beans and lukewarm, soggy battered fish. If I were trying to increase my... More

I absolutely love the food at La Carnita. From their appetizers to their tacos, I've loved each item on the menu that I've tried. My only two complaints are 1) it is insanely noisy in there ALWAYS, and 2) the venue of the restaurant itself. It is not a very big space to begin with and there are dozens of... More

Staying in Little Italy

Neighbourhood Profile
Little Italy
Toronto's Little Italy is a city hotspot for cafe culture and nightlife. There's something for everyone in Little Italy, apparent from the cross-section of clubbers in glitzy dresses, and elderly couples arm-in-arm heading to their favorite wine or pasta spot. Cafes spill onto the wide sidewalks, pool lounges and bars are always teeming with noise and activity, and both outdoor and indoor marketplaces are packed with fresh fish, cured meats, and pungent cheeses. All of the activity makes it a perfect spot for people-watching, especially over a nice glass of red wine or a quick and sumptuous slice of pizza at one of the many eateries or trattorias in the area.
