Really nice bar with great atmos and live music even on the Thursday night when we went. Bar food was v good. I recommend the Parmesan and truffle fries. It is v loud so don't go for a romantic meal!!

We like this spot because it's one of the nicer bars in the neighbourhood, and it's got a nice community vibe. They have drink deals on weekdays, and the food is absolutely delicious. Some of the best poutine in the city, in my opinion. Food is pricey, though, as it is in a prime tourist location, so don't come here... More

excellent atmosphere, delicious food and quick friendly service. Our waitress Andrea made sure our needs were met and brought service with a smile. Definitely will be returning in the near future!

Sat outside to have a drink with friends. Full of smoke from patrons who smoke next to the patio and throw their cigarettes away on the sidewalk. The waitress did could not do anything about it or at least provide an ashtray. Terrible experience.

We ate outside early evening which was fun to see the bustle of the city go by. I liked the menu and we were all happy with our choices. The waitress was friendly and helpful and place had a fun, relaxed vibe. Would recommend.

We stopped in on a warm summer evening for a light dinner. It was empty inside, but the patio was packed and hopping. We were seated outside reasonably quickly - the only downside being next to a loud and obnoxious woman and her companion. Menu choices were good and our order was taken quickly. I had the Japanese Fried Chicken... More

I would say the food was ok and the drink specials were worth it and good. The service is extremely slow since there was only one server on the patio! I felt bad because it wasn't her fault but we waited a while for our drinks

Looking for a place to eat lunch we happened upon The Corner Place. I ordered the burger and my husband ordered the St. Lawrence poutine. He's a poutine guy and this was the best poutine he had ever eaten with shredded brisket and au's jus! The burger tasted like really good steak, I left it just the way they recommend... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
