My wife and I always stop by on our trips to Toronto for a romantic weekend. Great food, always something surprisingly special. We've never been disappointed!

Def. not a place to miss, fabulous atmosphere, busy but not frantic with busyness adding to the atmosphere. We had a reservation and were seated at a booth with a round table which was amazing as there was eight of us and we all got to speak to each other and not to the those on either side and in... Busy restaurant and rightly so. The food and service are consistently excellent. I have been there many times and it was always excellent. the space is small ---not a restaurant for an intimate romantic dinner for 2

We made reservations here before we saw a show at the Elgin. It had a nondescript sign. If google maps hadn't told us that wee were there, not sure we would have seen it. While I wouldn't necessarily say this was a family restaurant (no children's menu), we were fine. I cook every single day, so I want to be... More

I love their lunch special...usually a quinoa salad or soup, followed by 2 choices of main course...and for an additional $5, you can add one of their fabulous and very creative desserts.

Group of five arrived early evening for a goodbye meal before taking our English friend off to the airport. The restaurant was completely empty, but so booked up we could only have high seats on the end of the bar. This was actually a great spot and as the restaurant filled up the atmosphere was great. It's casual and welcoming... More

Atmosphere was very busy, we arrived ahead of the main lunch crowd, which was good and got placed towards the back of the restaurant, service was very good, even though the place quickly filled up. The meal was 'adequate' only minor complaint I suppose was that the portion size was on the rather small size.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
