This place is at most, a minute walk from my front door, I walk past it daily and skirt the line ups, especially for weekend breakfasts. Finally went for lunch. They spared expense on the décor, that's for sure, not much better than the previous greasy spoon that occupied this spot. It's really a tiny place, no atmosphere but I... More

So decadent but simple and comforting! The food here is always so rich and full of flavour! Always a killer place for pancakes or bacon. anything smoked! Small place, so need to have time to wait or book ahead.

I had the fried chicken and grits, vile. Tried hard to find the chicken amongst the burnt batter, without luck. My friend had the burger and fries. The fries were very, very salty. The burger was below average. Will not be returning.

Maybe I should be keeping this restaurant and restaurant group a secret, but the food at all their locations is outstanding! I am a committed regular! I feel they serve home-cooked greatness many steps above actual home cooked greatness in a very laid-back atmosphere. Dare I say...almost Vancouver-like?!

Our family including 2 vegetarian kids, tried this restaurant for brunch. We had heard about it and it did not disappoint. Because we went for brunch on a week day , we were the only ones there at the beginning The server was fantastic, bringing us water and then going over the menu enthusiastically. The food is comfort and diner... More

All of his restaurants need to give their staff training in manners. They are rude and condescending. I have traveled extensively and never have I encountered the poor treatment that I do funnily in all of his locations. He must be giving them specific training in snobbery and rudeness. It is a service industry. They could take a lesson in... More

I have been to both the inside restaurant and the back outdoor patio. Both are very casual and the food is always amazing. The inside restaurant is fairly small and you will have to share your table with other patrons but that is what makes the place unique, friendly and casual. I would go back and recommend it to others.

Family outing at Rose and Sons last evening (6 of us) where we ate and drank very well for a very decent amount of money. The place is extremely tiny which surprised us but the service was excellent even though there was one server and all the tables were full. True, sriracha seemed to permeate (overwhelm?) quite a lot of... More

Being a local I thought I should finally check this place out. Finally a Monday came around where I knew my bud and I wouldn't have to endure the wait times I've heard about. Started with a fresh made Americano (no drip coffee available) and it was a surprisingly great start. Made with care and paired with a musical ambiance... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
