My experience at the Marche was terrific! It had a very unique selection of cultures and foods. My group of 3 was seated very quickly and kindly. The card paying system was very different and fun. I enjoyed a plate of ravioli with marinara sauce and parmesan cheese. It was amazing! This restaurant is good for vegans, vegetarians, gluten free... More

We were a party of 3. It was my first time, but the other 2 had been before. I loved how they cooked whatever you choose in front of you. One of my favourite parts was how when you walked in it looks like a grocery store. I had gotten the pasta and tomato sauce with shrimp. It was superb!... More

I had no idea what Marche was when I came here with my family. It turns out, it's a sort of food court with a tiny flair of Disney World. First, there are food stands which serve a variety of foods, from sushi to pizza to omelettes to coffee (and more). And amongst these food vendors is a person in... More

Loved this place years ago but it seems to just be ok now. With an English accent we are not that hard to understand but several staff were unable to understand us, not ideal for tourist. We were told they don't stock local beer, and Canadian wine was difficult to order. Clearly want to push the imports $$$. Food is... More

OK, what did I just pay for exactly?? This place wasn't worth the money, nor the bogus 12% service charge. The food was subpar at best, everything looked like it was a day old. Kinda reminded me of being on a cruise ship where all they care about is how fast they can swipe your card. We had to get... More

This is not the first time that happened. We always checked the bill before we pay. Everytime they charged extra things on the bill. I think the card wasnt completly clear before handing out to the customer . Becareful always check your bill before you pay. I wont come back ever again. I hate to argue with them at the... More

Dear NguyenMcCombe, Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate it very much. We are sorry that this was this incident happened again. Our system ensures that a card that has any outstanding amounts cannot be activated and given to a guest as well as every card is cleared before being handed out to a guest. We do train all of... I have been to this popular restaurant many times, but always leave slightly disappointed. It's very nice to sit 'outside' in the atrium of the building, an architectural gem in my opinion, and there is a huge choice of different foods from around the globe. As a vegan, though, the choice, as usual, was very limited (the salad bar, pasta... More

The restaurant offers a huge variety of foods. There is something for everyone. The portion sizes are good, the ingredients are fresh and a lot of it are sourced locally or sustainably. The only negative is the automatic gratuity added to all dine-in bills. Even if your by yourself enjoying a soup for 15 minutes, you are still forced to... More

Who knew that this place could offer such delicious food at such a value? Bought take out there last week, including a delicious smoked salmon crepe, a small caesar salad and a tasty piece of carrot cake. All for under $30 and way too much to polish off in a sitting.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
