Me and my family have been going to Duckworths for over 20 years. It is the ONLY place we will go to for fish and chips. The fish and the chips are cooked separately so you never get the taste of potatoes in your fish and vice versa. They even offer you a loaf of bread with your meal at... More

Service is always excellent! This is our go to place when we have fried food cravings. Tasty haddock and gravy for the fries.

One of the best halibut and chips I've ever had . No LLBO but great food all around English style wrapped in paper for take out . Or stay in you get more chips I find bread and butters fresh daily too.

Let's keep this review simple as fish and chips should be. Place has been around forever, halibut & chips best in town, staff is extremely friendly (dressed in all white of course) and the restaurant is always spotless! Been going there for years and the quality has always been consistent. Never once have I had a bad order of fish... More

The restaurant has been there for years and my family has been going for ever. Went for a quick lunch with my father, aunt and uncle and enjoyed the fish and chips. Its the best in the area. Service is always fast. Quality wasn't as good as I remembered but I enjoyed the meal and company. I would go back.

Had the Halibut fish and chips and enjoyed it. The service was fast and friendly. The inside is plain but with interesting historical photos of the area. Hard to believe the Bluffs once looked like that. The fish was excellent (much better than the chain fish and chips places), the fries average and the cole slaw is killer, loved it.... More

You think a place open since the 1960s would do the little things properly -- like make good fries. Ordered a box today for $3.50 and they were undoubtedly the worst fries I've every eaten from a fish and chip shop. These things were so white and uncooked they appeared to have been bleached. They were extremely greasy. There were... More

We have been eating at Duckworths for decades, and always enjoyed it, but our latest visit was disappointing. The food is okay, but greasy. Service is unfriendly. They now use paper cups for water and nasty packets of tartar sauce (which was a poor quality mayo). I was really in the mood for a good fish dinner, but came away... More

Came here with a friend after walking the Scarborough bluffs. It was possibly the best I've had in Toronto so far. For the price and quality I would say it's worth the trip. I plan on coming here when I can and when I want fish and chips! They use halibut and fresh cut potatos. They've been around for 60... More

Staying in Scarborough

Neighbourhood Profile
Situated astride Lake Ontario, Scarborough is a district heavily influenced by immigration. With a number of low-rent shopping and dining options making it a highly affordable part of town, and boasting one of Toronto's largest shopping malls, the otherwise green suburban neighborhood is a good place to go for bargains and discounts. It also draws in photographers. The spires, archways, and cavernous rooms of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Palace are filled with breathtaking art, architecture, and detailed reliefs – it’s like entering a different world, The ruins of columns and installation art at the Guild Inn makes a free-for-all exploration site, while the big-name draw for young photographers is the menagerie at the Toronto Zoo. While many visitors shirk Scarborough as too suburban, its houses are some of Toronto's most mystical and haunting architectural beauties. And for adventure lovers, it has river-rafting and some unique hiking trails.
