I was talking to a waiter at "Zorro's" (see my other review) about the old fashioned, Independent steak houses where the food was always good, the service great and a family was as welcome as 4 business people .... and neither the family nor the business group was put off by the other's presence. ARKADIA was the first name that... More

On behalf of the Katsioras Family, it saddens me to write this review because we've had several family functions over the years at Arkadia House and had excellent service, till now. My father, Jim Katsioras, recently passed away and on his 40 day memorial luncheon we booked a semi private function with approximately 30-40 people on the last weekend of June... More

hard to believe it's been 3 years since my last visit, went there with two others I took for dinner. The place has very nice décor, the food was good, waiters nicely dressed in white shirt, black vest/tie, service attentive but as others said, a hello or identity by waiter's name would be good. Ours was a bit hasty in... More

Went for lunch and portions were generous with price being reasonable. Service was very good I'm not sure I would go out of my way or travel very far to come here, but it's a hidden gem in a business district, and worth going to if you are in the area. A real home cooked meal feel to it.

The restaurant is a little upscale for Scarborough. That's why I wanted to go on my birthday. Saganaki great. Lamb chops and steak great; service great.

Although I can't deny that the food was really good but I have a number of complaints. My son and daughter in law went to book here for an event. When we sat down to talk we dealt with the head waiter not the owner, which was fine,. We discussed the menu and what would be served and of course... More

The food here is great. We have been going here for years and will continue. My only negative comment is the staff...at least the more senior waiters...they are all completely miserable all the time. Never a 'Hello...my name is...'...never a smile. The younger staff/waiters etc are much more pleasant to deal with. But as I said...the food here is great... More

Dropped by this place for launch. Inside the dining room looks nice and is cozy. Ordered the lamb chops but unfortunately they were overcooked i also found the waiter to be a little rough around the edges.

I wanted to do something special for my sister's 60th birthday and so I planned a surprise dinner at Arakadia House as it is only across the street from her apartment. There were 10 of us in the party. Of the 10, only 1 person was happy with their meal. I had the chicken slouvaki and it was overcooked and... More

Dinner meal, fine dining old school Greek restaurant with a variety of customers. Some dressed up some with cut off t-shirts. We found this odd as the staff are dressed in white dress shirts, ties, vests and black pants. Meal started off well, quick prompt service, unfortunately we ordered a white Greek wine. It was sadly tasteless. The food was... More

Staying in Scarborough

Neighbourhood Profile
Situated astride Lake Ontario, Scarborough is a district heavily influenced by immigration. With a number of low-rent shopping and dining options making it a highly affordable part of town, and boasting one of Toronto's largest shopping malls, the otherwise green suburban neighborhood is a good place to go for bargains and discounts. It also draws in photographers. The spires, archways, and cavernous rooms of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Palace are filled with breathtaking art, architecture, and detailed reliefs – it’s like entering a different world, The ruins of columns and installation art at the Guild Inn makes a free-for-all exploration site, while the big-name draw for young photographers is the menagerie at the Toronto Zoo. While many visitors shirk Scarborough as too suburban, its houses are some of Toronto's most mystical and haunting architectural beauties. And for adventure lovers, it has river-rafting and some unique hiking trails.
