We visited as a group of 6 and ordered a whole range of different meals. They were universally excellent. The lomo saltado was delicious as were the camarones. We also had pisco sours which were pretty great. Our waiter, who I imagine is the owner was friendly, attentive and funny. The poor reviews of this place are a shock as... More

We visited the Boulevard Cafe for dinner. This was an excellent experience for us as a couple ! The food was exceptional and the ingredients were fresh and carefully selected.I had the special mussels and shrimp dish which was to die for! Highly recommend this authentic yet progressive place! We even met the owner, Lirio, who has had the place... More

We had a friend that had been here previously and recommended it, however after seeing the recent reviews we were nervous. We were there right at opening at 5:30 and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. Our friends had been to Peru and said the food here was the same and just as good. There were several daily specials. Our... More

I was taking my friend out for her birthday, she suggested it was amazing! The food was not good, everything was too salty, and the salt we thought was intoxicated! The place items was very cute, loved the decor too bad the food wasn't on par and it was definitely NOT worth the money.

I had a day visit in Toronto from upstate NY. My trip was centered on having cuisines that I really like that are not available in my area....so I was really looking forward to a full day of delightful dining. I visit Toronto several times a year just for this purpose. I love Peruvian cuisine as I winter in Sarasota... More

This is such a sad story. This used to be one of our favourite restaurants in Toronto. Great grilled meats, fantastic dressings, superb corn bread. A small friendly family feel. Then one of the waiters who had been there forever passed away and it was like the place and people could not recover. Service became terrible, the food quality deteriorated,... More

With not enough staff to take care of diners, our evening started out with a long wait to get a table and then we were given one of the tables outside that backs onto Harbord Street so it was very noisy with traffic. Another wait and finally we had a nice table. Where we sat and sat and sat. When... More

My boyfriend used to eat here years ago so we decided to see if it was like he remembered. It was terrific! I had the bod and he had the beef kebabs (a different name on the menu). They were both delicious and tender! I liked his dish a little better so I am glad we shared. Our server was... More

I've been coming here and praising this lovely patio for years but my last lunch was a crushing disappointment. Poached eggs were hard as rocks and slathered in sauce, my friend's tea arrived with boiled milk, not cream, as requested, her tea pot was impossible to pour, there was no pepper offered or available at table, the server was barely... We wanted a comfortable spot for lunch where we could talk and relax. The patio was just right despite some noise from the traffic passing by. The food was excellent. I had never had Peruvian-style food before, and ordered the tilapia special that came with salad and potatoes. My daughter ordered the quesadilla. Everything was done to perfection. We shared... Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
