Incredible cheap price for a great food. Definitely will come again. If you at the beaches area you must come for a breakfast, lunch or even dinner.

Your typical chinese food to order in .... great egg rolls, garden gate beef that is so good that you know it can't be good for you and pretty much anything is great. A $45 order for two will last about 3 dinners...............such an icon to visit in the Beach too.

Plentiful cheap eats for less than ten dollars. Order the combination dinners. Atmosphere is comfortable and lived in....but that is the famous Beach "Goof" vibe

I know ithe Garden Gate Restaurant as the Goof. It had something to do with some of the letters in the sign being burnt out which spelled Goof. We have many happy memories of growing up eating breakfasts, lunches and countless take aways. There is a great variety of Chinese and Canadian crusine.

My teenage girls love going to The Goof for a mountain of chicken balls and rice with a real chocolate milkshake on the side. Reading the menu is like stepping back in time with the Dinner for 4 or the classic burger and fries. You won't go home hungry and will still have a money left for a movie at... More

Good choice for cheap dining. Not the cleanest tables but does the job. Locals seem to love the place. The menu has western food but that night they served Chinese only. Not sure why.

We order our Chinese food here. While it may not be REAL Chinese food we enjoy it. The food at the Goof is varied and always tasty. You can get a real turkey sandwich which my husband loves, while I can get liver and onions, which my family appreciates I don't cook at home. The staff is charming?????? Good place... More

Canadianized Chinese food. Other offering - burgers, grilled cheese etc. Daily specials. Decent food. Quick service. Close to The Fox theate for pre or post movie meal. Pricing is good. Lots of seating. Seasonal outdoor patio. A block north of the beach.

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
