Good food and ok prices but don't be surprised when ONE person on the table will have to pay for the whole thing as they DO NOT provide separate bills. No idea why they do this; so go there only when it is clear who pays for the meal before you start.

We were disappointed related to the high rating this restaurant has got so far. Quite too relaxed staff, we didn't feel be welcome. In addition food was just average if at all. Easy to find better restaurants in Toronto.

I have been going to Golden Thai for 17 years. Great for a quick, but good, lunch and reasonably priced too. Dinner on a Saturday night is great with a group to share a variety of items on the menu. Staff is always friendly and the owners are lovely.

Good spot for a quick lunch downtown. Fast service. Good food. Come in early as it gets busy at lunch.

Some of my co-workers took me out for a belated birthday lunch to the Golden Thai. The food was delicious, the portions large, the prices quite reasonable, and the wait staff polite and efficient. Definitely worth a return visit.

Our portion sizes were good. Food was tasty and service fine on a Tuesday evening. 2 starter, 2 mains with rice & noodles and 2 beers was about Canadian $50. Would recommend.

One of my favourite places to have lunch in downtown Toronto. There is the funky thai decor which I like. The service is always good and the staff is professional and friendly. The pad thai is amazing and is a very generous portion. it is about $12.00. Call it $15,00 with tax and tip you will get a great meal.... More

The food was tasty and the total cost of the meal was reasonable but the portions were too small. I would happily pay more for larger versions. With 4 of us eating we felt a bit short changed. I guess the size would be fine for just two people. The mango salad was excellent and all good was fresh and... More

Returned to Golden Thai for lunch while in Toronto for the long weekend. Arrived right at opening, 11:30am to avoid the rush and it was perfect. We got a table next to a window. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and fresh, and great value.

Three of us went to the Golden Thai on a Thursday night before a Blue Rodeo concert at Massey Hall - it is less than a 10-minute walk away. We had reservations and were seated right away. We ordered spring rolls to start and then shared three dishes—curried beef, cashew chicken and a spicy pork and two side-dishes of rice.... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
