This is a quirky place but well worth the visit. The food is outstanding and very good value. The atmosphere is very quiet and calm, very appropriate to the philosophy of the people running the restaurant. Would highly recommend Annapurna.

I have driven by this place for years and always wanted to try it. I was disappointed unfortunately. The sagu was bland and it was not basmati rice which i asked for but gummy instead. The masala chai was watery. The place has an eery cult feel to it. The price was good though.

Shivaramthrissu... S, Manager at Annapurna Vegetarian Restaurant, responded to this review Our Indian food is not very spicy true, but we offer pickles and hot sauces to make them spicier- receive rarely complaints of this type. Our Masala Chai is so strong that most Indian customers add hot water to make it thinner- perhaps this guest got soy chai which... More

Annapurna has some tasty food, I have to give them credit before I share the rest of my experience. My food alone: Indian Tomato soup was absolutely wonderful, as was the seasoned tofu. Unfortunately the rest of the table ordered the curry dinner special (large size) and the restaurant had run out of vegetables so rather than striking the special... More

Zen atmosphere encouraging no cell use, it's a little oasis close to DuPont station. Tofu burger is like nowhere else in the city. Well worth the wait for a meal and reasonable prices. Locals love the joint.

Been there a few times. Always nice to come to a peaceful restaurant.Staff friendly, food good and fresh. Do miss the cheese sandwiches that they served for lunch until 4pm. Great beverages. Lassi and Masala Chai, just awesome.

My husband and my family (read small children) went to Annapurna for a vegetarian dinner. I'm a vegetarian, my husband is not. They were obviously not pleased to see us, and we had to seat ourselves. We waited quite a long time to be served and for the food despite others who arrived after us getting their meals. The servers... More

I don't think that the interior of a restaurant could be as different from the name itself. Nothing about the interior of this beautiful restaurant reflects the rugged, cresting nature of Annapurna. Maybe the intention of the owner was to entice it's visitors to just sit back and take a moment to enjoy the inner beauty of a stunning mountain... More

Food was delicious. I had a Masala Dosai, it was not served in a conventional manner, but the potato filling, coconut chutney and sambar was simple sumptuous. The decor is simple, friendly staff and books to read if you are by yourself. I liked it so much that thinking ahead i also packed my dinner, it was a special of... More

The food here is great. Great service. The food is to die for. I have made a few visits to Toronto and I have visited this restaurant and I have not been disappointed in the food and the service. And if you have a sweet tooth, this is a little piece of heaven.

The restaurant was recommended to us from a friend in the neighbourhood so my girlfriend and i decided to check it out! The atmosphere is very tranquil and has lots of positive sayings and material to discover while visiting. The staff was very nice and talkative which is really great. The food was reasonably priced but i feel i was... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
