We enjoyed our morning breakfast here during our 6 day stay at the hotel. Our server, Stephen was just to good to be true. Always perfect service and by day 2 he knew exactly what our preferences were. Exceptional food and my omelettes were simply the best I have ever had.

Four of us went for a Sunday brunch to celebrate a special occasion. We had made a reservation by phone earlier in the week and we got a call back to confirm the reservation. There promptly at 11, imagine our surprise when they could not find our reservation. The staff seemed unconcerned and made us wait while they seated everyone... More

After shopping at Saks, three of us went to the King Eddie- an old grand dame of a hotel, recently upgraded, for afternoon tea. Along the same lines as a British afternoon tea with scones, jams and Devonshire cream as well as choice of pastries and finger sandwiches. The dining room is nice, but lacks ambiance as there are no... More

We had breakfast both mornings we stayed at the hotel in August. It feels a bit formal with white table cloths, but the service was excellent and in fact the food was outstanding. Not wanting the full hot and cold buffet ($27) we opted for 2 croissants ($7, the real thing, superb), and their "fruit and fiber" plate of fresh... More

Everyone should experience this once in a lifetime. While a bit pricy, it's worth every penny. Attentive service, delicious sandwiches and pastries and the feel of the old world. This was the experience of a lifetime and Victoria's made sure to help us make the best of it. The waiter was even kind enough to take pictures of us throughout... More

On my last day in Toronto, in order to unload some Canadian money and for convenience sake, I ate at the restaurant in the King Edward Hotel. While the hotel itself is amazing, the Victoria Restaurant is its antithesis. I thought that $14 was a bit steep for French toast but, never mind, I was in the mood. It was... More

Had a wonderful breakfast here. The service was excellent and the food was really well done. You get a good portion and the price is decent for a downtown location.

I had a late dinner at this restaurant after arriving at the Omni King Edward after a long flight and the experience was great! The food was very solid, with the grilled shrimp starter being the highlight. The Salmon entrée (main for you Aussie kids) was served pan fried without the crispy skin (which was fine for me, but others... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
