Many years ago we enjoyed a good meal here when their location was in the Kensington Market area. Since then they have long since moved to their current ethnic area in York, where they have a much larger restaurant and a free parking lot for customers. Before revisiting, we looked up online reviews and were dismayed to read so many... More

We visited with 7 people and George the manager took care of us. Apps: chorizo sausage, clams and oyster. Main we had a family style seafood platter with lobster crab shrimp sea bass and George brought sardines as well as home made chips with brocolli and carrots and rice. All great wholesome food seasoned perfectly Will return without a doubt.

Went to this place last night and it was such a horrible experience...everything that was served, from the appies to the dessert was extremely salty and pre frozen food...totally embarrassing to them, to us as a group of 15+ and to Portuguese cuisine. To give you an idea the mushrooms that came with the steak (prefrozen btw as well as... More

We went for a birthday celebration; the service was good, the food was nice (I suppose I could see what another diner mentioned here about it being a bit salty, but I like salt!)... I had the squid entree and I really enjoyed it. The seafood offerings were very impressive - my husband's mixed shellfish included lobster, crab, shrimp and... More

Don't know what all the bad reviews are all about. I have been going for years and they even catered our wedding and did a midnight table for the history books. They have given me and my wife free bottles of wine, champagne and even a meal on the house for our first year anniversary. Our food was always amazing... More

This restaurant is absolutely horrible. The food is EXTREMELY salty. I was with a large party and each of our meals was full of salt, making the dishes inedible. When we explained/complained to the server, the server did not apologize or reply, and proceeded to walk away from the table without a word. In addition, when we asked to split... More

Last evening my family went to dine at this so-called Portuguese restaurant and it was the worst experience we have ever had. The food was extremely SALTY and not fresh. Every single dish our party of 8 ordered was horrible and basically boiled with salt on it. The service was unprofessional, not friendly and uncooperative. They would not separate our... More

Food was salty and basically inedible. Food was pricy and portions were small. Atmosphere was loud and noisy, we couldn't even hear ourselves think let alone speak to one another. The service was lackluster. This restaurant is not worth your time or money. Please explore other options for authetic Portuguese cuisine.

Wish I could rate lower. Recent party there embarrassing. Small portions and even served on paper plates. There was only one wine cup and fork and knife for the whole night and management there not co-operative. Despite all that, they still charged more then $100 a person. They were dis-honest and give all portuguese places a bad name... STAY AWAY!

Staying in York-Crosstown

Neighbourhood Profile
York-Crosstown is a sleepy area of Toronto dotted gorgeously with hills and farmland, stately homes and parks. An affluent district in parts, the stately houses at Baby Point along Jane Street are especially breathtaking, and make for a lovely wander on a clear day. Parks are bountiful in York-Crosstown, which makes it a vibrant area for outdoor play and sports, providing a break from the hustle of Toronto's busy, jam-packed city center. For a little spice after a walk in the park, the Little Jamaica area of York sports cheap, authentic food from the Caribbean. This area is restful and more orientated towards outdoor activity and the exploration of nature.
