The ambiance is distinguished, the service attentive and the food superlative, with focus on classic Italian favorites and fresh ingredients. Especially recommended are their seafood and veal dishes, as well as fantastic desserts (try the affogato, in particular).

This was a late Monday evening delight. Several places in Toronto are not open Monday evenings. This place looked interesting and though it was sparsely filled I went in. I am so glad I did. After conversing at length with the waiter I started with white bean soup, which I found tantalizingly seasoned and hearty. Loved it. The Red Snapper... More

As an Italian born in Northern Italy there a few restaurants in Canada that can truly match the true authentic flavor of Italy. La Fenice is one of them and when I am in Toronto it is my go to place for Italian Food. All the pasta dishes are excellent and the "Risotto Milanese" is to die for. They are... More

La Fenice offers a small, intimate setting with a well-varied menu complete with gluten-free options! Excellent, attentive service complements a delicious meal. My husband and I both enjoyed the Salmon Fettucine and would go back for it again!

I used to frequent La Fenice but haven't been for a couple of years. It has a nice ambience and layout. The service was attentive and professional. They still come out with a platter of the various meats and another with the sea food that is available. The food is good and portions are a good size. Still a good... More

We looked at a dozen restaurants along King Street before deciding on Le Fenice and it was the right decision. The courtesy begins with a warm welcome and extends through the meal with a perfect combination of friendly yet restrained service. Glasses are filled, dishes removed at the proper time, and dishes are presented with proper timing. Even the linen... More

Staff very friendly, Atmosphere ok although it was early and seemed as though this was a favourite for people having a relatively quick dinner before the theatre. Found the decoration a bit odd. Food quality was ok and no complaints, just not sure we will be rushing back.

We stumbled about this place as we stayed at the Hyatt across the street. Completely unexpected but very charming. This is old school service, very personable and helpful. We ordered the mushroom fettuccine and the pork belly nightly special. The fettuccini was absolutely lovely, and pasta with 3 ingredients is very bold! The pork belly was ok, had better. The... Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
