The food is expensive for the quality. The steak was not very appetizing and the fries were soggy. I was not impressed at all. The service wasn't great either we were forgotten for a while. I would not recommend this place.

I booked a late lunch/early dinner so the restaurant was practically empty. Decor is lovely in a classic French bistro sense. I kept it simple with onion soup to start and cassoulet as my meal. The soup was delicious with the broth rich in flavor. The croq was filled with more bread than onions so I would have preferred a... More

Great experience brunching with a group of friends. Started off with Cappuccinos, freshly baked croissants and a tasty selection of artisan cheese. Everyone was pleased with their order, the Oeufs Benedicte was served on a croissant instead of an english muffin. The braised brisket brioche sandwich was a hit.Steak grille, topped with egg, was tender and tasty. We received great... More

Been coming for many years. Love the extensive wine list, not cheap but at least some 'bin end' bottle specials. Where else can one find such a variety of Meursaults or say, Ozzie shiraz? The food was good, again, just as good as most of the meals we just ate during our recent month-long house rental in a Burgundian town.The... More

I have been eating at Le Select for 25 years. The food is superb and never disappoints. The love that obviously goes into each dish is remarkable. The ambiance is very reminiscent of the best of Paris. The wine cellar is legendary. I love this place!

I had occasion to visit this little gem before a concert the other night. We arrived before the Sunday night dinner rush and were quickly seated. The waitress explained the menu (and huge wine list) well to us and took our orders for drinks then food promptly. The wine list is substantial but there are some "house wine" selections outlined... I go here often with my girlfriend for the dinner special - you get a main course, plus an appetizer or a dessert for $20. Add in some drinks and tax/tip and it's a nice way to spend a night at a pretty upscale restaurant for less than $75. Their fries and soups are incredible, and so are their main... More

We attended for Champagne Birthday Brunch for my daughter with 10 family members. We were aware of corkage fee as we brought a special champagne. When we gave the birthday cake, French patisserie made, we were informed of "plating fee". We were taken by surprise but waited for brunch to finish. Coffee was brought with no sugar or milk..had to... More

Walking in i thought the place looks really nice. however, the nice impression ended as soon as we sat down. the service was so terrible, i would never go back - took an hour for the waitress to even take our meal orders, took 30 minutes to bring my drink (a cava that just needs to come out of the... Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
