I travel to Toronto often and when I have the chance, I stop in to Mezes. They have the most authentic offerings of Greek cuisine. I've ordered dinners and appetizers when on my own or when I'm with friends, we order platters and each time the food is more than enough and the service is always available to accommodate your... ...because the last few times were frustrating and not up to what we had encountered before. Tonight, though, we were there for a very early dinner, and it was as we used to love. Service has become a little less special, but the food remains fresh and wonderful. It is still probably one of the best two old school Greek... More

This restaurant is severely underwhelming. Me and my boyfriend were on the danforth at the float spa, and decided to try this place instead of any other solely based on these trip advisor reviews and it's rating. We ordered a dip plate to start and the pita was great, the dips were fresh and tasty (not incredible but nothing at... More

We had a lunch at Mezes which has been quite disappointing. First the service was not friendly at all: as a short exemple, the waiter never asked us if we enjoyed our food. About the food, it was good but not really in line with our expectation: when ordering a moussaka, the plate was mainly composed of rice and potatoes... More

Came here for dinner with another couple to celebrate Christmas. It was a wonderful experience. We were seated quickly despite the fact that the place was booked. We were served by the owner and he did a fantastic job. Everyone enjoyed their Greek Food. 3 of us were vegetarians and there were plenty of options for us. The food was... More

Greek owned and managed by a wonderful woman who came to Toronto with her husband to start a new life, and carried on after he died shortly after arrival. The recipes are authentic, the ingredients fresh and you can even imagine sitting at a table by the Aegean Sea -- even in the dead of Winter. Family friendly; bring your... More

Where can you find a good Greek Restaurant........Of Course it has to be in GreekTown. Located in the Danforth Ave GreekTown in Toronto, Ontario, it justifies every minute of the wait you have to go through as worthwhile. "No reservations please" is what we hear on the phone, but when you reach and wait in the queue to get a... More

The most unfortunate thing about my dinner here was that my stomach could only hold so much. The price range is a bit higher, but I found it worth the indulgence. It is authentic Greek food served in an authentic atmosphere. We started with the Small Kria Poikilia (plate of 4 dips) and wanted more pita to finish the dips!... More

Went to this restaurant with our family but we were disappointed with the food and the overall experience. It was excessively noisy and the service too fast and casual. It did not feel very special. The presentation of the food was also very casual and was warm, not hot.

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
