Décor and vibe at this place was really quite good. So I sort of expected the food to be on the same level. It was not. Not that the food was bad. It was good. Perhaps more okay than good. But below my expectations. I had the crispy chicken with wild mushrooms. Chicken was a bit dry although I finished... More

The decor of this restaurant is modern but it's cozy enough and suitable for conversation. Our server was very good - friendly and attentive. The menu is varied with interesting choices but very pricey. The Thai lettuce cups were good but my wife's fish was grossly over-cooked. Wine was averaging $20/glass so it was a very expensive night out for... More

Been here many times with business groups this time with a huge conference group - staff were ready for us and service was timely for a 30+ group. Food was great, not earth moving but their strength is excellence of experience. Highly recommend for groups. Not a spot for a quiet night out or for foodies seeking exciting experimental food.... They have fresh fish everyday, its cod from Alaska for me. I like shrimp ravioli of small plate and Thai chicken lettuce cup( a bit spicy) for start, and delicious 😋. Japanese cheesecake is not very sweet, I like sweet better:) Anyway, good place.

Must have been a great day for the financial market. This place was full of happy and loud people. So i did not have a quiet business lunch meeting. I had the tough/dry lamb salad. My guest had the daily curry which looked very good.

It is sometimes overwhelming in downtown TO when you are trying to find a place for a quiet drink to catch up with friends. The choice is mind boggling at best. We ducked into Reds to take respite from the frigid cold early March winds and were pleasantly surprised by the warm atmosphere and welcoming staff. The wine list was... More

Lovely evening with friends. A bit loud but settles down when the bar patrons leave later in the night ... Food was excellent upto the point where we ordered ice cream and for $6.50 were given 3 tablespoons. Never done this before but we all returned it to the kitchen. A shame to end the night with a price gouge... More

Decided to treat myself to the steak and lobster dinner. Haven't had lobster in awhile. When it arrived I thought I'd been given the wrong meal. Couldn't find the lobster. Discovered a couple of pieces of flaked lobster in a mushroom cap. There wasn't enough lobster meat to differentiate the taste from other ingredients on the plate. The steak was... More

We stopped by Reds after a professional event on a weeknight. The place was busy, but not overly crowded. We ordered a glass of wine each and a serving of truffle fries, which were amazing. Our beautiful waitress told us that the fries were outstanding and she has at 'least one' every day. She looked like she only has one...... More

Our dining experience was absolutely terrible!!!! As a party of 8 (4 couples) visiting from Niagara we made sure we had made dinner reservations weeks in advance. In total we were there for 3.5 hours with a horrible experience. The main entrées came out cold, they were all mixed up as the order was not taken correctly. Staff seemed unaware... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
