I love seafood, and I got to say that the oysters here are one of the best I've ever had. Truly a unique place, great atmosphere and perfect for a date night. Not cheap but certainly worth it!

We ordered a variety of oysters that were imported from all over the world. The New England clam chowder was amazing! The crab was so fresh it came directly out of their visible tanks. It's a real treat located in an authenticity old world building that is over 100 years old.

We went on a Tuesday. The place is a dump. Do not get dressed up. Having said that , the New Brunswick oysters were the best and fresh we've had. The tuna tartare was to die for and the fried oysters the best I've had. No liquor served, wine is very expensive for what you get.

Ah, Jeff. Welcome to Canadian alcohol prices, my friend. When you see a wine that sells for $11.50 UD$ at Canal's Bottlestop in Mt. Ephraim, NJ for sale in Canada, the price can blow your mind. That said, thanks for the kind words. I'm not sure that "dump" is entirely deserved - certainly we're more rustic than 'on-trend' (no rose... More

We had a giant crab for over $1000! We shared that sucker with 10 or 11 people. Service was very pleasant and a good sense of humor! I think this was the best crab I have ever eaten in my life! Highly recommend this restaurant

A weekend trip away to the big smoke as new emmigrees from England. Hotel - tick, concert - tick, but where shall we eat tonight? Aagh it's Friday and we haven't booked - let's ask Siri! Up popped Rodneysoysterhouse.com, so we rang them to ask about availability. 'Sorry fully booked, but we do have some seats at the bar on... More

This was my first visit. I've been wanting to go for a while but no opportunity and turns out its very difficult to get a reservation. My wife tried for a week and the only thing available was first come first serve at the bar. We figured we'd try and got a spot at the bar within 10 minutes. Great... More

We were there with a small family for my Birthday dinner. When making reservations we had asked there be as booster chair at the table. When we were seated there was no chair for my granddaughter. They quickly corrected it. The atmosphere was that of a rustic pub which we enjoyed. We were having difficulty deciding our meals and found... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
