Came for lunch. Their sushi is good, but nothing outstanding. On the other hand, their tempura dishes were very good. The coating was crisp and light, a sign that it's cooked at the right temperature. Due to the winter season the air circulation was not the best, so our clothes smelled like our lunch for the rest of the afternoon.

Since the Yorkville area of Toronto is known for every hi-end store with shopping at its most expensive.. We were amazed to find the Sushi Inn right there on Cumberland St. It's really busy and crowded, but it's well worth it. Super fresh sushi, teriyaki, rolls etc. And such an bargain.!!

A group of seven of us went to this place on the recommendation of two in our party that had been there years before. They were convinced it was the best sushi they had ever had. We ordered a variety of dishes, including some individual bento boxes and some plates for sharing. It was all quite generic, so although it... More

We escaped a nearby Thai restaurant (really loud) and found this place, which had wonderful sushi in a calm atmosphere. They also has a liquor license, which the other place did not. We ordered enough sushi to keep us all happy. The service was polite and helpful. We had a really good time here and would come again.

This has been my semi-regular haunt for the past 10+ years. It is always busy and full of locals, with a wide range of a la carte options and highly reasonable lunch specials. Service is fast. Hard to beat a huge sit-down meal for under $15 with tea, taxes, and tip all included.

I had never been to a Sushi Restaurant before. We were told to come here as one of the favorites in the area. Well, I had no clue what to order or how to order it. The menu was a little hard to understand if you don't know sushi. But our server helped me out a bit and I loved... More

A friend took us there, our dishes arrived timely as we are catching a concert. Our server was attentive. There were a lot of snap shots of movie stars mounted on the wall when they visited the restaurant. I was happy to find a tuna dish - photo shown.

I'd been a loyal customer for several years because I love the food. The service has gotten out of control. I refuse to eat in as I don't appreciate the rude attitude I received on a regular basis. For example, my final straw was during my last experience. I received the wrong dish; I politely pointed it out and the... More

If you need a sushi fix, and all the other dozens of sushi and Japanese restaurants are busy, this is the place to go for a fast and cheap meal. Service is fast, not always pleasant but I don't think they care about that. It's a busy place, the tables are closely arranged so the ambiance isn't fine dining by... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
