We ordered takeaway bbq pork rice.. When they bagged the order they said bbq rice.. We get home and we find bbq noodles.. Please can you train your staff to understand the difference as this was really disapointing!

My husband and self were in Toronto for a meeting and wanted some really good Chinese food. The front desk person at One King gave us the address and we started to walk there. Quite the walk from there and we decided we would get a taxi home. The restaurant was so busy but we waited and 15 minutes later... More

The food here is excellent and has been for 30 years! I first came here when I was in University. It hasn't changed much and that's just fine by me. I know what to expect, great food from the Swatow region of mainland China. Everyone I have ever taken has been more than pleased and satiated!

Recommended by hotel concierge, hoped for better. Can be crazy busy with line out the door and doors open to the cold air. We finally got a table, but near door and uncomfortably cold. Soon figured out you are expected to write down your order on paper provided. When filling out order, noticed 'Cash Only'. Wish I had been advised... More

Firstly, my wife and I are of Asian descent, I was born in Canada and my wife in Taiwan. I'm not saying that we are food experts but we definitely have a good handle on what is good and what is not. Having said that, I honestly do not know how this place has survived for so many years. If... More

Great spot for late-night eats on Spadina. Food is fresh and tasty, great value for money, and friendly, fast service.

We have been returning to Swatow Restaurant at least once a month, every month for years! We were back again today for lunch. Always yummy food at reasonable prices. We order a variety of rice dishes, noodle dishes, congee, etc. So far there hasn't been any item on the menu that we don't enjoy. Simple and modest restaurant that always satisfies!

We ordered fresh prawn dumpling soup, one with noodles and one without. Absolutely delicious. Fried tofu snack was above average - before with ginger and onions and mixed seafood with vegetables. Every dish was wonderful, but we came away with enough for another meal. The restaurant is tiny, busy, and on a main Toronto artery but well served by transit.... More
