First time we dropped in for dinner. Always went for breakfast . Didn't realize they were open for dinner. Great pea soup, tuna sandwich, potato latkes and cheese blintzes. What should have been a great experience was reduced by an inattentive waitress, unusual for this place .

We had been here before on the weekends when it is extremely popular and crowded. Different price structure too. We went with family on a recent weekday, and the breakfast specials were awesome and VERY reasonably priced. Keep in mind there is no meat served here, but the egg dishes, pastries, and specialty items are great.

Portions are amazingly awesome, i had the lox and cream cheese and was told to have the twist instead of the bagel by our server. Four different people filled our coffees and i felt cared for here

United Bakers Dairy Restaurant does a good job, but not as good as they think they do. There is a learning curve to dining here. If you don't know or notice quickly how things are done, then service seems to be rushed and you won't feel like a valued customer. It was our first time there. The tuna was excellent.... More

I go to this restaurant about every 2 weeks, and it is by far my favourite restaurant in Toronto. The food is consistently good (stand-out mentions to the pea soup and Greek Salad), the food comes out very quicly and the atmosphere is always the same - slightly dog-eared and idiosyncratic but undeniably endearing! It's often busy around lunch time... More

"UB" has been around for about 100 years. Most restaurants don't last longer than 5 years. There is a reason why UB is an institution. The service is fast. The food is consistent and good. This is not fine dining. It is not romantic. The atmosphere is loud and joyful. The pea soup and Greek salad is a main part... More

I have been to United Bakers many times myself and with my family. I highly recommend not to go to this restaurant between 11:30-1:30 because the lineup will go out the door and it will take about 20-60 minutes to get a table. Although the food is okay, it is not very filling. It is a very good restaurant for... More

There are few restaurants like this open anymore. The ones like it in Montreal and Miami Beach are gone. Quite reasonable breakfasts for start your day and my "go to" place for a breakfast meeting. The soups are to die for and the tuna is incredible. Pastries are special and good coffee too!
