This little Italian Pizza and sandwich shop has been in a Toronto treasure since 1964 with the same family ownership all those years. I have been going there forever for their veal sandwiches, but the pizza is excellent and it is known for the panzorotti. Seats for about 20 people and great people watching of a steady stream of customers,... More

So simple, so wonderful. One senior experienced chef, one beautiful sweet girl and result is awesome. Delicious thin crust authentic Pizzas. Don't miss this. Wish, I could be living in Toronto.

Delicious custom-made pizza and Italian pasta.. absolutely worth to try.. You should also try their panzerotti with enourmous amount of cheese filling.

Panzerotto the way it's supposed to be, "basic" tomato & mozzarella cheese made to perfection. As a child I remember having the best Panza ever near the train station in the city of Bari in the Puglia region of Italy, (as per Wikipedia the birthplace of the Panza) and Bitondo's is the closest. Believe me I've tried many places. Wish... More

Anyone can make Italian food, it's very easy, but the secret to good Italian food is in the sauce. The big chain restaurants serve ketchup as sauce. Bitondo's has always maintained the same excellent homemade taste in their sauce for the almost 50 years that I've been eating there. Be it pizzas, veals or panzarotti, you can't go wrong in... You got to check out this institution in Little Italy. A fun place for panzerotti and veal sandwiches with some decidedly vintage and unassuming decor. While we were here, there was a guy who was taking his lunch back with him to Montreal! Definitely recommend Bitondo for a quick and satisfying lunch.

They say that people are never quite satisfied with the pizza they eat because it never tastes exactly like the pizza they had as kids. I have found the pizza of my childhood. It is soul-satisfying comfort food that I enjoyed with my wife and son in our car one saturday afternoon in downtown Toronto. The atmosphere of this small... More

Staying in Little Italy

Neighbourhood Profile
Little Italy
Toronto's Little Italy is a city hotspot for cafe culture and nightlife. There's something for everyone in Little Italy, apparent from the cross-section of clubbers in glitzy dresses, and elderly couples arm-in-arm heading to their favorite wine or pasta spot. Cafes spill onto the wide sidewalks, pool lounges and bars are always teeming with noise and activity, and both outdoor and indoor marketplaces are packed with fresh fish, cured meats, and pungent cheeses. All of the activity makes it a perfect spot for people-watching, especially over a nice glass of red wine or a quick and sumptuous slice of pizza at one of the many eateries or trattorias in the area.
