Menu: ok but not exciting. Lot's of standard stuff -no specials. Billiard and bar and restaurant all in one = extremly noisy in such old buildings made of bricks only. Poor acoustics and not ideal to chat with your party.

Stumbled across here while waiting for a show at the Horseshoe Tavern. Busy but service was pretty good, typical pub grub type food, nothing fancy but It was good. Prices pretty good. Looks like there is a big patio for the summer

Went for a beer here on Saturday afternoon while the sun was shining on an unusually warm winter day. Patio was full and we had to stand with our beers. There was no outside servers so a bit of a wait at the bar. Overall, couldn't complain with the service. Would go back for a beer.

The onion rings were perfect and the burger was nicely cooked, well presented and tasty. The server was on her own but quite efficient for such a busy afternoon. Nice location!

I had heard good things about the Bull so we stopped in last week but it didn't live up to them. We had burgers and wings, both were good but nothing that wowed us, and the beer selection was mostly the usual staples from the big brands. I give a few bonus points as our server was rather good. My friend and I chose to eat here for lunch on Labor Day. We had a perfect spot on the patio to sit and people watch! We ordered a poutine appetizer (which was honestly so big that neither of us should have gotten entrees to eat, too!) All in all, a good experience!

In an area with a lot of pubs and bars it's tough to stand out. The Black Bull has a good corner frontage with a very decent patio for more clement weather, and agreeable space inside with a choice of banquettes, high tables and chairs or seats at the attractive, slightly old fashioned bar. The range of beers is good... More

Stopped in after a Blue Jays game for a pint and a bite. The beer was good but I would say the food choice (appetizer) was average. I ordered bruschetta which I expected to be created on toasted baguette slices, but it was soft, untoasted slices that arrived which made my choice unmemorable. I don't know about other food options,... More

Entering that pub wasn't expecting to enjoy beer that much as I did ! They have big selecion of beers and what is more, bartenders and waitresses are very good in helping you choose a beer you like and wanna try (that's a big advantage!). Pub provides pool table and outdoor tables. It's rather crowded.
