As one of our local redtaurants this is a family favorite for a dinner out. Service can be a bit spotty but we have food favorites we keep going back to. My 11 year old so loves the angle hair seafood pasta and we all live rhe tiramisu for dessert.

I come here all of the time with friends and usually grab a bite to eat at the bar. It's always a happening place with lots of regulars. I usually stick to my fave meals which include the magic mushrooms to start, and a pizza or a pasta of some sort. Big fan of the Mi casa pizza and the... More

I've been going to Ferro for 20 years. The food is always very good and it's a "happening" place. It can be loud and service can be slow, but the atmosphere is great.

The staff was very attentive and the food was great, we tried the grill calamari which came like a salad with beans and polenta, olives lettuce and the dressing was amazing, the mains were also very good, will return.

Eaten here dozens of times, food is almost invariably excellent - disappointed only once, never by their Italian food. Pizza is great, lots of inventive and delicious specials - veal saltimbocca always superb.

The food is OK. However, the place has lost some of its ambiance. It used to be a great place to meet, full of young professionals from the area. Now the crowd is a lot older. The olives for appetizer are very good, the pappardelle with mushrooms are great too. Wine is priced fairly. It is a good place but... More

Went with a party of 10 - We did book but had to wait for prior party to leave - were accommodated well at the bar. Bar staff were great and knowledgeable about beers on tap.We had requested a round table and while unable to provide this, Ferro did provide a large square setup which allowed all to interact around... They have a very solid customer base. The food is pretty good, their cooks have been there a long time. Although some of their service staff should have been long gone it manages to stay in business becaause of its food quality. It truly is a family business, the Father, a set of twins and the oldest son. Its a... More

Had the magic mushroom appetizer,,,superb, the main course took forever to be served ,even though, the restaurant was not busy. We kept asking about our order yet it seem to never arrive and waitress seemed to be completely indifferent. We then asked another server who only smiled and who either did not understand us and couldn't care .The main course... More

Ferro has been established and family-operated since 1993.The Space: Originally a billiard hall of colorful yet dubious character which endured for over 20 years, the Pronesti family took possession over two decades ago and added eclectic yet tasteful elements of avant-garde, industrial design while maintaining the vibrancy and creative energy of the original location. The Food: Serving up traditional southern Italian cuisine with a spin wherever we feel it’s long overdue. Our original culinary ambitions have never changed: By holding true to the family recipes and dedication to fresh ingredients as passed down through the generations that have preceded us, we bring you authentic, honest, home-cooked food the very same way we enjoy it.Our Style: We believe in the traditional family-style of a crowded table filled with quality, delicious foods and plenty of welcoming hospitality. As many of our customers will confirm, we’re not shy when it comes to getting out front and setting the tone! We love being involved whenever it’s possible for us to interact with you – and yes, that may also mean catching us at the bar and toasting to a great evening!Groups? As the neighbourhood changes, so do we. An enlarged backroom space now allows us to accommodate various types of large group parties including corporate functions and celebrations of any kind.If there are any questions you have for us or anything that we can do for you; please call.Salute,The Pronesti Family

Staying in York-Crosstown

Neighbourhood Profile
York-Crosstown is a sleepy area of Toronto dotted gorgeously with hills and farmland, stately homes and parks. An affluent district in parts, the stately houses at Baby Point along Jane Street are especially breathtaking, and make for a lovely wander on a clear day. Parks are bountiful in York-Crosstown, which makes it a vibrant area for outdoor play and sports, providing a break from the hustle of Toronto's busy, jam-packed city center. For a little spice after a walk in the park, the Little Jamaica area of York sports cheap, authentic food from the Caribbean. This area is restful and more orientated towards outdoor activity and the exploration of nature.
