Very good food but I am afraid the prices are simply ludicrous and the service falls well well short of the prices. I can’t fault how hard they try, I can’t fault the quality of the food or the restaurant but I am afraid it’s...More

Visited Shoushin for Omakase sushi dinner in June 2018. This is my “go to” sushi restaurant in GTA. Comparable quality, service, and atmosphere to high end sushi restaurant in japan.

I visited Shoushin in April 2018. This restaurant has it all -- food, wine, atmosphere, and service. It's a real high end sushi restaurant. It's expensive, but if you want quality, this is where you should go. The best sushi in Toronto.

Our son had been here before and said he wanted to take us here to celebrate his dad’s birthday. We don’t buy birthday gifts, instead we go out to the top restaurants anywhere in the world. Shoushin is top class. It took us longer than...More

First point is that it is definitely $$$ dining with set "experiences" (without drinks) priced at $130 yuri, $160 sakura, $250 kiku and $400+ for the Chef's discretion. That being said, the presentation & flavours are exceptional, with the service very attentive (baskets under your...More

We arrived a little before 8 p.m. and we were greeted warmly by the staff. The lady at the front bowed very deeply upon welcoming us. After we told her the reservation name, she took our coats and then we were led to our table...More

Shoushin is an excellent Japanese restaurant. The wooden decor is clean and elegant. Try to sit at the bar and watch and talk to chef Jackie. He will explain each sushi piece as he makes it. The restaurant is not large and the atmosphere is...More

The sushi and sashimi is one of the best I have had in the world. Really great quality and excellent service in a nicely designed restaurant. We had the chef’s tasting menu which is as always expensive but it was worth it. I will definitely...More

Actual sashimi/sushi pieces were great. Outstanding pieces were aji, uni and of course, melt-in-your-mouth chu-toro & o-toro. Sushi pieces are pre-dressed here (chef applies soy sauce on fish for you), but we felt that some pieces like saba (mackerel) could use a bit more sauce....More

North End
The North End is a nucleus of specialty food
restaurants and shops, especially around its Mount
Pleasant Village area. Frequented by antiquers for its
numerous collectable shops, furniture spots, and
oddity stores, the North End is a maverick of the
quaint and quality. Vintage toy stores, accessory
shops, and cinemas welcome perusers to step back in
time, while the wide pedestrian squares and the large

Description
Shoushin is a luxe Japanese sushi bar located in Toronto's affluent north end. Helmed by head chef Jackie Lin, Shoushin specializes in carefully crafted, authentic Tokyo style sushi. The restaurant is the only one establishment with a sushi bar made from hinoki wood, a prized Japanese cypress. We craft sushi that is pure, fusion-free and extraordinarily authentic. Expect seasonal, sometimes rare, ingredients on our omakase tasting menus.
