Great range of flavours; knowledgeable staff; generous samples; fun stretch of Queen Street East to visit; thoughtful business (they put benches outside for customers to sit on)

This is a local small business that does a great job on all counts. Try the gelato -- especially the hazelnut gelato! Or try the affogato con gelato al cioccolato (espresso over a scoop of chocolate gelato). And if they ever get avocado gelato, I'll have to tell them, "I gotta have an avocado gelato affogato"

Ed's ice cream may be a little on the expensive side but it is well worth it. The ice cream is smooth and creamy and no matter which flavour you chose, is full of flavour. You can taste the cream in every bite. My favorite is the white chocolate raspberry. You taste white chocolate at the beginning and raspberry on... More

Smooth textured ice cream/gelato. Always a line-up in the summer after a little league game or a late night craving. The 'Burnt Marshmallow' actually tastes like the namesake. When they make fresh waffle cones in the store, that sweet smell draws you in every time.

Probably the best ice cream in the city. It is not the best gelato and do not go there if that is what you are after but for true ice cream nothing beats it. I go to buy pints for the house. Sweet cream is my favorite as it tastes like home made whipped cream in ice cream form.

The ice cream here is great quality and delicious, the added bonus is that they give you one topping for free, offering a verity of candies, chocolates, sprinkles, etc. It gets four stars only because their flavour selection didn't include cookie dough, my favourite.

One can easily tell that Ed's makes and serves excellent ice cream, made with the best ingredients, served up by people who care about what they do. They always present about two dozen flavours...some the old classics, some an assortment of up to date and seasonal creations. Very, very good ice cream!

Delicious flavours to suit everyone's taste, except those on diet. My favourite is the dark chocolate chilli gelato.

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
