This is a cute little café my boyfriend and I happened to stumble along in search of coffee. The atmosphere is very relaxing with a quaint rustic vibe to it, Wi-Fi, and a decent selection of hot drinks to choose from. I got the cortada which is a Cuban coffee with condensed milk and regular milk used to make it... More

I happened to be in the neighbourhood and a local shopkeeper recommended Tango Palace for a good coffee and more. He was absolutely right. The coffee is superb -- they use a local roaster, Hale Coffee. A great selection of pastries and lunch items (soup, sandwiches, bagels, sausage roll. A local artist is featured each month (?). The tables are... More

This place has a great ambience and the regular barista is very friendly and nice. The coffee is very good, and the muffins and other sweets are good too. I have stopped here quite a few times in the morning. It has a great local neighbourhood vibe to it. Haven't tried the meals but will one day!

Tango Palace is a nice, independent coffeehouse. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and a sausage roll. As an American, I'd never seen a sausage roll before and was quite intrigued by this British food item. Both my latte and the savory roll were tasty. There's also ample seating for a fairly small place.

Tango Palace is located on the 'other end' of Queen Street. The area is a bit edgier but more interesting than the more popular West end. Tango would do well no matter whee it was located. Lots of teas and coffee choices. I had a shortbread square and my wife had a scone-both were fine as was her coffee. I... More

If you're getting your coffee or whatever to go, you'll probably enjoy it. But if you try to navigate through the maze of chairs and awkward tables to get to an empty seat, good luck. Too many tables and seats leads to a claustrophobic - i prefer to not bang knees, turning my body sideways, excusing myself constantly, and not... More

I love this place, their large coffee comes in a cereal bowl sized cup!!! The patrons are very interesting looking people. Not sure if the older woman who sits in the back is the owner or just a die hard, but she rocks nonetheless.

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
