I went with my partner to Uno Mustachio, because of the good reviews on Tripadvisor. We had one of their classic Italian sandwiches. Coming from Europe, I was underwhelmed by the sandwiches, which in my opinion are not really authentic Italian. On top of that they charged us extra’s we did not have, which we found out once we were... More

Yes that's right - I said the world. I have been going to Mustachio for years both with friends and for a quick business bite. The eggplant sandwiches are amazing - perfectly cooked eggplant, great sauce and a decent price. Amazing. One of the few things worth seeing at the St. Lawrence market.

Had the veal sandwich I have had it there before the sandwich is average at best. Normally trip advisor is correct but not this time in my opinion. I do not recommend this for sandwich.

Whenever I go to Toronto I always head downtown to the St. Lawrence Market to get an eggplant parm sandwich here (market is closed Sunday and Monday). The portion is very generous and the addition of the fried onions, sweet pepper and mushrooms makes this sandwich even better. I usually get the double one because I really love eggplant. My... Highly recommend a visit for takeout from Uno Mustachio located in lower levels of St. Lawrence market. Fast efficient and friendly service.

We visited the market and we were starving and decided to tackle an Italian Sandwich. There was a long line and when you see people in line you know the food is good or even great. There was a huge selection and lots of toppings including jalapenos for your sandwich.I ordered the chicken eggplant and my friend ordered the veal.... More

Ask for the veal + eggplant sandwich. You won't regret it. Very simple food, very tasty, the sandwich is excellent.

The sandiches are so big, we split 1 every time, and have never left hungry! We travel to Toronto every 4 months (or so), and always look forward to a return visit for the best sandwich ever! I highly recommend this to anyone with an appetite! The gentleman taking orders and payments is super personable and seems to remember every... More

A staple in Toronto and the market. I love places that have a few great things that they are known for and don't dilute themselves. Choices include chicken or veal parm, with or without eggplant. Can't go wrong investing $10 at this St Lawrence Market icon! Very Highly Recommended!!!

I've worked in the neighborhood for fifteen years and have been eating lunch here for almost as long. Veal and Eggplant sandwiches are my favourite. The sauce is good but the key are the toppings: onions mushrooms and sweet peppers. The length of the lineup can be intimidating, but don't worry: we don't call it The Veal Machine for nothing... Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
