This restaurant is part of a massive $ 140 million renovation at the Queen E. My guess is that although the menu and surroundings will be revamped, the quality and freshness of the food will be maintained. After many a meal, at all times of the day, I must say that whenever we are at the Queen E and want... More

We visited Le Montrealais Bistro for dinner with a group of Canadian friends. The food was excellent , service impeccable & atmosphere upmarket & classy. It's not cheap but worth the money for a special occasion. The restaurant Le Montrealais is located in the Fairmount Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Rene Levesque Blvd.

Carlos is the waiter who took care of me. The food was OK, the eggs bene's muffin were very dry and the hollandaise sauce served in a bowl was cold. Good selection of cold cuts, cheese and dairy products. Carlos was extremely helpful and very pleasant. He changed the coffee pot as it was not freshly brewed according to him.... More

Excellent food and service. Breakfast lunch or dinner, one cannot go wrong. I enjoyed all three types of dining in this charming spot.

It's very simple. It started that I reserved a table 2 months before for Mother's day brunch... They could not find the reservation. I got finally a table, near the window with AC at full pace. The chairs, the glasses, everything was cold. The service was o.k.. than I started to get some food. Everything was cold and a lack... More

We had made reservations weeks in advance, making sure to notify the restaurant of the dairy and egg allergies my friend has. When we arrived they knew about them but said they would have to find other items to serve her. We had both ordered the afternoon tea and the portion sizes were extremely small in comparison to other high... More

When i think of Sunday Brunch with a touch of class, nothing beats Fairmonts Le Montrealais. It is absolutely brilliant. My wife and i loved it. Their starters, Salads, cheese selection and hot options were one of a kind. However items like their bagel and the benedicts' english muffins were very hard to cut. Their smoked salmon i thought was... More

We ate here on our recent stay at the Queen Elizabeth. While the breakfast buffet is somewhat pricey, the selection it offers is excellent. The food is all hot and fresh. I love the crepes with the maple butter. My young children love it here as well. The service from the staff is what sets this place apart. You are... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
