We found this patisserie while strolling through Plateau Mont Royale. The selection made it hard to decide what to try. We settled on an apple tart (like apple pie but a square serving slice) and found it to be incredibly delicious. The only problem was that there were no little tables or places to eat. We ate on the bench... More

It is very small place, so cozy and warm, with drawings of little children on the walls and a delicious selection of pastries and breads. We had the lemon meringue and apple tarts, brownies and a latte. Quick and kind service.

Used to go there on week-end morning to get pain au chocolat and croissant ... these are good. Then started to get some bread, which is OK, and some pastries ... one of the pastries had a very strong taste of fridge, like it stayed in the fridge for days ... brought it back and were told that it is... We walked by this little pastry shop and decided to grab a snack. It was tiny inside so it felt claustrophobic even though there weren't many people inside. We decided on almond croissants and my daughter picked up the tongs just like the woman before her. A woman came charging out of nowhere and said she would get our choice... More

This bakery is perfection. Delicious pastries... the best croissants I've ever tasted. We ate our croissants in Parc La Fontaine, which was lovely and close to the bakery. The lady was very kind to us even though we don't speak French...which was refreshing. I will definitely be returning for more upon my next visit.

Delicious bakery items - croissants, pain au chocolats, great fat pies and desserts, ice cream, sandwiches, cheese, sausages, what more could you want? Very popular, and open relatively late for a bakery.

While staying at a local B&B next to Parc la Fontaine on holiday we stumbled upon a great boulangerie just a block north of the park. Very busy in the morning, there were a variety of pastries, croissants, quiches (large and small (about $5.50 C)), and made to order sandwiches (about $7.50 C), all to go. The sandwich bread abut... Living in Montreral for 5 years, Mr. Pinchot was a weekly stop. Coming back after 7 years was like moving back into the neighbourhood. Nothing has changed except the youthful staff. The Chausson au Pomme is still to die for. The Cheese croissant was melt in your mouth perfection. I have never had better pastry anywhere. In the world. I... More

Nice little place 10 minutes walk from where we were staying in Plateau Mont-Royal. Lovely sandwiches and pastries and very friendly staff. Try the rillettes baguettes.

I work a few blocks from Mr. Pinchot and visit this gem regularly. I have yet to be disappointed in anything purchased here. The croissants are flaky and buttery, the chocolatines have the perfect mix of chocolate and pastry and the millefeuilles are hands down the best I've ever had. Croque Monsieurs (croissant, ham, cheese), veggie pate, and made to... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
