Bruch choices are limited and quality is about average. The waitresses are inattentive. After bringing the food to table of six, she didn't realize no one had cutlery, had to be asked. There was only one glass of water on the table for six people, after asking for water she brought 3 glasses on the table. After putting the food... More

We booked Cafe Griffintown to host our New Years Eve party. We wanted a venue that would be private just for our group. We had been to Griffintown Cafe once before for a brunch but we weren't sure how it would go for a cocktail dinatoire (passed around hors d'oeuvres). It greatly surpassed our expectations. Included in the price, they... More

We visited the place with 3 under 2 year olds. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I had mac and cheese and my partner the benedict eggs. Quick service and delicious plates. Would recommend it for sunday brunch option. Go there early because it gets busy quickly.

This is a hidden gem with amazing eggs Benny. Their version of eggs Benny is different on a freshly made biscuit. Served with fresh fruit and a salad is a really nice and refreshing addition. We loved the atmosphere and food definitely exceeded any of our expectations. Must go to!

Went for a walk along Notre Dame street on a beautiful late summer day and decided to stop for brunch. Had been here before so we knew the drill. Had the Mexican poached egg burrito with salad and a frosty pint of Boréal blonde lager. Service was polite but a little slow - but the place was busy. The food,... More

Came here for lunch as been to the more commercial areas of old town and downtown, it was close to our hotel and what a find! Had the Robin Hood salad which was to die for! Best food I have had since arriving in Canada 6 days ago! Don't miss this little gem if in Montreal!

My husband and I live very close to the Griffintown Café, so when we dont want to walk up the hil to downtown, we go to Griffintown Café for brunch and every time we leave this place, we always say we are not coming back, but this time for real! The only thing that is good there is food, except... More

I went with a friend for dessert. It took 15 minutes for someone to come and take our order. We end up ordering coffees and the brownie (since they only had that and a fruit crumble left). Brownie was all burnt and bitter. Not much to choose from for the dinner menu as well. Don't think I will be coming... More

Been here a couple of times and it has always been a good experience. Nice staff and delicious food. Brunch cost around $10-14, which is a good price consider that you definitely will get full! Plus for a nice presentation too.

Staying in Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)
Once the core of industrialised Montreal, the factories and historic buildings of Le Sud-Ouest have been renovated into homes, museums, and small businesses. The rejuvenated landscape has put its Saint-Henri district in vogue, with cutting-edge galleries and an ever-expanding network of restaurants. Foodies can especially delight in the mom-and-pop shops in Little Burgundy, or at the Atwater Market, where outdoor stalls sell fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat, street vendors have menus of hot fish and wine, and the indoor market offers chocolate, breads, and coffee beans. Dominated by the gentle waters of the Lachine Canal, Le Sud-Ouest is still very much an outdoor town, with a number of pedestrian-only bridges traversing the waters, bike paths along the canal with views of the Leisure Boats, and massive green spaces like Angrignon Park to stop for a picnic, or to play a sport.
