Reviewed yesterday NEW

I had an amazing starter of beet salad with goat's cheese and walnuts, and the wine was a good Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. Expensive wine list, only a few as little as $45. My clam risotto was spoilt a bit by too many capers. My husband had calamari and then penne in cream truffle sauce with sausage, which he thought was excellent.... More

We had a very nice dinner here; good wine, appetizers, pasta, and meat. We are giving it a very good rating despite the fact my wife's lamb was too hard to even bite into. The restaurant didn't charge us for it and offered her something else which she declined. Would return if in town again. Thank you!

This is a good, quality Italian restaurant. The food and service are great and they have a nice wine list. It's a bit pricey; but it's definitely worth it.

We had two delicious meals here. The owner and several staff are Italian, including the chef. Relaxed and pleasant without being too noisy. Courteous and responsive servers. A great place to dine after a day in this charming part of the city.

We were walking around looking for somewhere quick and easy to eat, and we stumbled upon an unassuming looking restaurant, near the court house and port area in Montreal. It was full of lawmakers enjoying their lunch, but we were still welcomed as international travellers to come in for something to eat. The maitre de was a very friendly, multi... More

My wife and I went to the Quattro on a recommendation of a friend. The seafood pasta dishes are amazing We did not want them to end. We are pretty picky eaters and like very good food. This place impressed both of us. I was lucky to go again with people from work later in the week, and they were... More

My wife and enjoyed a wonderful meal on our last night in Old Montreal. The ambiance was very nice - chic but low key, not stuffy and you just felt comfortable. The service was very attentive and nice and we really enjoyed ourselves! The menu had many imaginative options and they even prepared the dinner for my wife a bit... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
