My friend had the breakfast sandwich and I had the croquette de jambon. Both great meals together with lavender coffee and a chocolate croissant. Lovely sweet treats to take with you. Nice place to spend time. Would definitely return!

Love this place. Super nice staff friendly and helpful. One of the best coffee in town. The desserts and cake are very beautiful and they taste amazing.

The food options are ok - went there for lunch and had soup. The pastries were sweet. It's a really great place for a date given the setting.

For all those who like pastry and prefer a quiet, cosey and cute setting, this may be the place for you. Had a Matcha Cheescake and a Lavender Latte, both at its best.

As the owner grew up in Japan, we tried the matcha scones - perfect taste. As breakfast dessert, we shared the chocolate bread pudding - wauw. Beverages were also fantastic, a chocolate tea and a masala tea.

Tried their coffee and had a very tasty chef's salad! The place is an ideal location for a light snack for someone who is a vegetarian. The interior is very welcoming and the hipster staff is totally awesome!

De Farine et d'Eau Fraîche is a great little snack restaurant in the (up and coming) Village of Montreal. Come here for a tasty lunch or great late afternoon coffee and snack (restaurant is closed for dinner). The food is really yummy and the service is efficient. It's one of those little hidden neighborhood gems. It's located on Amherst Street... More

This place was wonderful. Beautifully decorated, very friendly, the pastries are amazing and the coffee was some of the best we've had. And the breakfast sandwiches! We came back the next day for a repeat.

This place is not only beautiful, but the food and service are outstanding. We went for brunch. My husband raved over the salmon, strawberries, and goat cheese on a buckwheat pancake and I loved the pulled pork, egg, on cornbread. The potatoes are prepared as a savory treat that can't be missed. I will definitely go back and recommend it... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
